Systems and methods for qualitative assessment of sports performance
One or more processors may be configured to receive, via a radio from one or more sensors, one or more streams of sensor values indicating: (1) accelerations of a boxer's arm within a first range of acceleration, measured by a first acceleration sensor, (2) accelerations of a boxer's arm within a second range of acceleration, measured by a second acceleration sensor, and (3) rotation of the boxer's arm measured by a gyroscope sensor. The one or more processors may be configured to determine, based on the received sensor values from the first acceleration sensor, whether a punch landed but not to measure a force or velocity of the punch. The one or more processors may be configured to determine, based on the received sensor values from the second acceleration sensor, at least one of a force or a velocity of the punch but not to detect whether the punch landed.
Board Breaking Game and Methods of Play
A karate board breaking game and associated methods of play are described. At least one embodiment comprises a plurality of reusable plastic breaking boards, a task randomizer, a score tabulator and instructions. Other embodiments are contemplated having non-reusable wood boards. Yet other embodiments are contemplated that include additional components such as additional boards, a board holder, additional task randomizers and additional score tabulators for different versions of playing the game as detailed in the instructions.
BODY PROTECTOR DEVICE FOR MARTIAL ARTS AND VALID HIT DETERMINATION SYSTEM INCORPORATING THE SAME
A body or head protector device for martial arts having at least one hit detector attached thereto or embedded therein is disclosed. The hit detector includes: an elongate upper substrate; an elongate lower substrate facing away the upper substrate; and a spacer disposed between the upper substrate and lower substrate, wherein a circuit pattern is formed on the lower substrate substantially across an entire length of the lower substrate, wherein the circuit pattern include first and second patterns, wherein the first pattern and second pattern are short-circuited with each other when the upper and lower substrates are in a non-contact with each other.
Athletic training device
Described herein is an athletic training device to aid a user in hip rotation, specifically to help the user increase the strength and speed of the rotation motion of his or her hips for improving performance in sports activities. The present invention is a device to be worn by a user as an athletic training or exercising aid, or a therapeutic aid, helping the user to maintain proper body alignment during a specific body movement involving the hips. In one embodiment, the device comprises a base from which extends an arm, the arm attached to the base by a pivot or hinge point, that allows the arm to move along a linear arc when force is applied to the device, such as the force exerted by a user upon rotation of the hip.
Multi-Headed, Multi-Abdomen, Multi-Armed Apparatus For Use With A Slip And Counter Fight Simulation / Workout Machine Or Stand Alone Device For Fight Simulation
A free standing fight simulation workout machine has a fight simulation headed/multi-headed, with or without arms, member that is adapted to be used in conjunction with a slip and counter fight simulation apparatus or stand alone apparatus. The fight simulation headed member for a free standing fight simulation workout apparatus has at least one main support structure having a mounting means. The headed member comprises at least one head terminating at an elongated neck. When present, the arms are arranged to extend from or come out of different areas of said head, face and/or neck. Preferably, multiple heads are provided. The headed member includes a top mating mounting portion and the neck bottom includes a bottom mating mounting adapted to mount on bungee cords mounted through mounting means on the workout apparatus. The head or heads and protruding arms provide various angles adapted for a user to punch, knee, and/or do a flying knee.
MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING DEVICE
Disclosed is a martial arts training device that is worn on a trainer's waist, and a pair of movable leg-strike units provided on the outer surface of both legs of the trainer are controlled at similar directions, speeds and strengths to real kicking, such that defensive and offensive training simulating a real fight may be performed as the trainee defends from and strikes the movable leg-strike units. The martial arts training device according to the present invention includes a waist-mounted unit worn on a trainer's waist, and a pair of movable leg-strike units, each movably connected to opposite sides of the waist-mounted unit and having a handle on the outer surface thereof to allow a trainer to perform a movable operation thereof.
