Fitting for a Fluid Delivery System

A fuel delivery system includes a connection assembly that reliably connects a high pressure fuel supply line to an inlet of a fuel rail. The connection assembly includes a fitting that decouples the retention function of the connection from the sealing function of the connection. The fitting is hollow and has a spherical leading end that is compressed against an inner conical surface of the fuel rail inlet to an extent that fuel rail material is displaced by the spherical leading end and a fluid-tight first seal is realized between the fitting and the conical surface of the fuel rail inlet. A weld is provided at a location spaced apart from the seal, the weld joining the fitting to the fuel rail inlet and retaining the fitting within the inlet in a compressed state, whereby the first seal is maintained.

Fuel Rail

Provided is a fuel rail that can achieve a reliable seal between a rail main unit and a cup, involving a short welding distance or a reduced amount of a brazing filler metal. In the fuel rail, a rail main unit 2 has a central hole and a rail main unit-side communication hole 10 that provides communication between the central hole and an outside of the rail main unit 2. An injector receiving member 5 has an injector insertion hole 7 into which an injector is inserted. The injector receiving member 5 is mounted in the rail main unit 2 such that the rail main unit-side communication hole 10 and the injector insertion hole 7 communicate with each other. The injector receiving member 5 has an injector receiving member-side communication hole 9 that provides communication between the rail main unit-side communication hole 10 and the injector insertion hole 7. A metal fusion zone 12 is formed, by way of an inside of the injector receiving member 5, in a bond between the rail main unit 2 and the injector receiving member 5, to thereby seal the bond.

FUEL DISTRIBUTOR RAIL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME

A fuel distributor rail for a fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine in motor vehicles, in particular for gasoline engines. The fuel distributor rail comprises a main tube, wherein the main tube has a fuel channel extending in the longitudinal direction of the main tube. The main tube comprises at least two outlet openings, wherein the outlet openings branch off the fuel channel. A connecting element is arranged on the main tube, wherein the connecting element has an attachment wall that rests against the main tube. The connecting element is connected to the main tube in a material bonded manner and comprises at least two connecting pieces. The connecting pieces have a connecting channel each for the fluidic connection of an outlet opening to each injection nozzle.

FUEL INJECTION VALVE

A fuel injection valve includes: a holder which accommodates a valve body, has a surface magnetically facing the outer periphery of an armature, and is joined to a core; a housing which is press-fitted onto the outer periphery of the holder and accommodates a coil; and a cap which covers the fuel upstream side of the coil in a lid shape and is press-fitted onto the outer periphery of the core. The lower surface of the cap is brought into contact with the upper end surface of the housing in a radially slidable state and then an outer peripheral portion of a contact surface between the cap and the housing is joined by laser welding.

Fuel injection valve

A fuel injection valve is provided that can reduce variations in stroke length by reducing distortion during welding, and consequently can reduce variations in flow rate of injected fuel. The fuel injection valve has a nozzle; a fixed valve that is press-fit into a tip of the nozzle and has a fuel injection port from which the fuel is injected; and a movable element that forms a fuel seal section by abutting against the fixed valve, and opens and closes the fuel injection port. The fixed valve and the nozzle are fixed in place by welding at a position with no space due to press-fitting. A groove that serves as an empty space is provided in a continuation of a welded section that is formed in the fixed valve and the nozzle by the welding.
