Injector cup, spring clip, and fluid injection assembly
Various embodiments include an injector cup comprising: a cup body extending along a central longitudinal axis from a first axial end to a second axial end; a ring adjoining a border of the second axial end and radially extending beyond said border; wherein a base surface of the ring faces away from the first axial end and defines a reference plane extending orthogonally to the longitudinal axis; the ring comprises two wings, wherein each wing includes a free end section extending bent away from the reference plane at a side of the reference plane facing towards the cup body, wherein the two wings are spaced from each other; and a through opening in the ring disposed between the two wings.
Fuel system with an arrangement which seals between a fuel injector and a fuel rail socket
A fuel system includes a fuel injector having an inlet conduit extending along an axis, a nozzle opening, and a valve needle which is moveable to selectively permit and prevent flow of fuel from the inlet conduit through the nozzle opening. The inlet conduit has a seal support flange which provides a seal support shoulder which is traverse to the axis. A fuel rail assembly includes a fuel rail having a main fuel passage which receives fuel from a fuel source and a socket having a socket bore extending thereinto from a socket open end such that the socket bore is in fluid communication with the main fuel passage and such that the inlet conduit is received within the socket. A sealing ring which is metallic circumferentially surrounds the inlet conduit within the socket bore such that the sealing ring is compressed between the socket bore and the inlet conduit.
Fuel injection assembly for an internal combustion engine
Various embodiments include a fuel injection assembly comprising: a fuel injector; an injector cup comprising a cylindrical body with a cavity at the lower end to receive a fuel inlet port of the injector; a holding element for securing the injector to the cup; a spring clip; and a first opening formed in a peripheral wall of the cup for receiving the holding element. The holding element comprises a U-shaped body with two parallel arms engaging opposite sides of an annular groove in the injector to secure the injector in the cup. When inserted in the cup, the free ends of the two arms project from the cup, and include adjacent the free ends a retention arrangement engageable by the spring clip. The spring clip comprises a depending leg engageable in a corresponding receiving part on the injector to locate the angular position of the injector relative to the cup.
Injector test machine
A fuel injector test machine is provided such that an injector is fixed on a test feature with a manually operable clamp.
Fuel pump adapter
In at least some implementations, an adapter, for a fuel pump having a casing, has a base having an axis and an opening through which fluid may flow, and multiple tabs connected to the base. The tabs are circumferentially spaced apart with a void between at least part of the tabs, and at least two tabs have a contact portion that extends radially inwardly to define a minimum diameter opening between the tabs. Each contact portion extends along a portion less than all of the surface areas of the radially inner surface of the tabs.
FUEL DISTRIBUTOR RAIL FOR AN INJECTION SYSTEM AND INJECTION SYSTEM FOR MIXTURE-COMPRESSING, SPARK-IGNITION INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES
A fluid distributor. The fluid distributor includes a base body, a high pressure output, and a connecting piece which is joined to the base body and is used for the high pressure output. The base body is formed by a forging operation. An interior space of the base body is formed at the base body by a machining operation after the forging operation. The connecting piece is processed by a machining operation. A holding element is provided, that, as a result of the machining operation, an accommodating opening, which leads from an outer side of the connecting piece through a wall of the connecting piece and is used for at least partially accommodating the holding element, and an accommodating space, into which, during assembly, a connector of an injector is at least partially insertable in a mounting direction, are formed at the connecting piece.
COMPONENT FOR AN INJECTION SYSTEM, AND INJECTION SYSTEM FOR MIXTURE-COMPRESSING, SPARK-IGNITION INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES, AS WELL AS METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SUCH A COMPONENT
A component for an injection system. The component includes a base body and at least one connecting piece, which is formed at the base body and used to connect an injector. The injector, during assembly, being insertable along a mounting axis into an accommodating space of the connecting piece. The base body and the connecting piece are formed by a forging operation. A recess is formed at an outer side of the connecting piece, in which, in the mounted state, an orienting element of the injector engages for restricting a rotational degree of freedom of the injector about the mounting axis. The connecting piece is post-processed after the forging so that a lateral surface of the recess is at least approximately configured with a predefined lateral height.
FUEL INJECTOR TESTING MACHINE
A fuel injector testing machine is provided. The machine includes a head unit having a flow meter, and a fuel injector holding assembly. The head unit and/or the fuel injector holding assembly can be moved relative to each other, allowing the head unit to test a subset of fuel injectors held on the fuel injector holding assembly, and subsequently can test another subset of the fuel injectors via movement of the head unit and/or fuel injector holding assembly.
Bracket and method for clamping an injector onto a cylinder head
A bracket for clamping an injector onto a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine, comprising a clamp section, arranged for providing a clamping force onto the injector to clamp the injector onto the cylinder head; a mount section, extending from the clamp section and arranged for mounting the bracket to the cylinder head adjacent the injector; and a support section, extending from the mount section opposite the clamp section and arranged for supporting the bracket onto the cylinder head at a lever distance from the clamp section, to define the clamping force; wherein the support section comprises a plurality of support elements, each of said support elements arranged at a different lever distance, such that a selected support element from the plurality of support elements engages, in use, with the cylinder head at a selected lever distance, such that the bracket is supported on the selected support element only, to control a magnitude of the clamping force.
Clip for injector
The present disclosure relates to a clip for an injector, in particular, the clip for the injector including a base portion and an elastic piece of the clip that elastically support the upper surface of a connector housing and the lower surface of an injector cup, thus attenuating fuel injection load. In addition, an engaging piece of the clip is inserted into an engaging portion of the injector cup, thus preventing the rotation of the injector.
