A boot in a fuel system includes a boot wall having a window formed therein receiving an electrical connector of a fuel injector, and a filter attached to the boot wall. An air gap is defined between the fuel injector and the boot, and a filtered air flow path extends through the filter to the air gap. The boot may be implemented in an assembly of a fuel injector and a double-walled fuel conduit such as in a fuel system for an internal combustion engine.

MOUNTING STRUCTURE OF FUEL RAIL

Disclosed herein is a mounting structure of a fuel rail, including a mounting boss part having a through-hole formed in a longitudinal direction and a first mating surface formed at an outer surface, an injector cup part provided separately from the mounting boss part and having a second mating surface formed at an outer surface and a flow path hole formed at one side of the second mating surface to be connected to the main pipe for transferring fuel to an injector, and a bridge part connecting the mounting boss part and the injector cup part and having a third mating surface. The mounting structure of the fuel rail can effectively distribute stress concentration by increasing contact area with the main pipe, thereby improving fatigue strength.

Fuel injector and fuel-injection system

The disclosure relates to a fuel injector with a housing, a valve body, and an adjustment element. The body may have a central area, an end area, and a transition area, with a first outer diameter in the central area, and a second outer diameter in the end area smaller than the first diameter. The adjustment element may be in the transition area to align the fuel injector relative to the recess. In the transition area, an outer diameter of the valve body decreases in stepped fashion from the first diameter to the second diameter in a radially extending step. The adjustment element comprises a ring element through which the transition area extends with a radially extending upper surface which radially overlaps, contacts, and is coplanar to the step and a spherically shaped external surface in a cylinder head contact area.

Common rail distributor rail

A common rail distributor rail (2) for supplying an internal combustion engine with fuel comprises an inner pressure pipe (3), an outer jacket (4) as well as joint pieces (5) for connecting high-pressure conduits. Thereby, the joint pieces (5) are fixedly connected to the outer jacket (4), in particular by way of thermal joining, and by way of this form a double-walled system with a pressure-tight sealing of the jacket.

Fuel injector

A fuel injector for an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The fuel injector is installable in a cylinder head bore of a cylinder head of the engine and has a body region arranged to be received within the cylinder head bore, and a head region arranged to extend outside the cylinder head bore to protrude from the cylinder head when the injector is installed in the cylinder head bore. The injector includes a first valve needle arranged to control the injection of a gaseous fuel from a first outlet, a second valve needle arranged to control the injection of a liquid fuel from a second outlet, a gaseous fuel inlet for admitting the gaseous fuel to the injector, and a liquid fuel inlet port for admitting the liquid fuel to the injector. The gaseous fuel inlet is disposed in the body region of the injector, and the liquid fuel inlet port is disposed in the head region of the injector. The injector can also include an internal accumulator volume so that an external fuel rail is not necessary.

System having a fuel distributor and a mounting support

A system, which may be embodied particularly as a fuel injection system for high pressure injection in internal combustion engines, includes a fuel distributor and a mounting support, which is used for fastening the fuel distributor to an externally-mounted structure, particularly a cylinder head, of an internal combustion engine. In this case, a damping composite element is provided, which is connected to the mounting support and/or the fuel distributor. The damping composite element includes at least one metal layer, which is formed at least essentially of a metallic material, and at least one elastically deformable damping layer.
