Electronic control device
An electronic control device includes a first pull-up resistor connected between a power supply and a switch, a series circuit of a transistor and a second pull-up resistor with a resistance value lower than that of the first pull-up resistor, connected in parallel with the first pull-up resistor, and a microcomputer, an output port of which is connected to a base terminal of the transistor and which controls a turning on and off of the transistor using a signal output from the output port. A connection point of the switch, the first pull-up resistor, and the second pull-up resistor is connected to a first analog measurement port of the microcomputer, a power supply is connected to a second analog measurement port of the microcomputer, and current flowing into the switch is detected using a value of voltage input into the first analog measurement port.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ACTIVATING IN-VEHICLE POWER SOURCE
A system for a vehicle includes an input device configured to send an activation signal responsive to an input to start the vehicle. The system further includes a vehicle body controller, programmed to, responsive to the input and a lack of presence of a phone operating as a key, send an activation signal to activate a power source within a cabin of the vehicle for up to a predefined time period since a last vehicle start.
Work vehicle having engine drive checking circuit
A work vehicle includes an engine controller for driving an engine, a power supply line, a power supply control line, and a display signal line. When a check switch switchable into a safe position corresponding to safe drive of the engine and a non-safe position is switched to the safe position, the power supply control line renders a power supply relay ON. The display signal line transmits a signal indicative of the switched state of the check switch to a display.
Intoxicated Vehicle Driver Accident Reduction System
A sobriety ignition interlock system including an engine control device and a method for managing available vehicle engine power using the sobriety ignition interlock system. The engine control device includes an engine control processor (ECP) that is electronically connected in between an engine control unit (ECU), an engine sensor assembly, and a sobriety processor. The sobriety processor determines a sobriety level of a vehicle driver and sends a corresponding sobriety signal to the ECP. The ECP intercepts an engine signal transmitted from the engine sensor assembly to the ECU and manipulates the engine signal according to the sobriety signal, in order to manage the available power of the vehicle engine.
Control device for vehicle
A control device for a vehicle includes an electronic control unit configured to perform an automatic driving control, to determine whether there is a possibility that a start control of an engine and a gear shift control of an automatic transmission are concurrently executed in a future traveling under the automatic driving control, during execution of the automatic driving control, and to first execute one control of the start control of the engine and the gear shift control of the automatic transmission in the future traveling and execute the other control after the one control finishes, when the electronic control unit determines that there is the possibility that the start control of the engine and the gear shift control of the automatic transmission are concurrently executed in the future traveling under the automatic driving control.

Vehicle operation adjustment using internal and external data
A system and method for controlling the operations of a vehicle in response to an analysis of the vehicle's status and performance compared to a set of external performance parameters. The vehicle may be operable to adjust its performance in response to the analysis in order to comply with the performance parameters. The vehicle may further be operable to prevent activation or continued operation of one or more components in response to the analysis.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OUTPUTTING FILTER MONITORING SYSTEM INFORMATION VIA TELEMATICS
A filter monitoring system and method are described. The filter monitoring system includes a remote telematics system, and a data link between the remote telematics system and an onboard telematics system. The remote telematics system is configured to receive, via the data link, an indication of a pressure drop across a filter cartridge of the filtration system from the onboard telematics system, determine a first value indicative of a remaining filter life of the filter cartridge of the filtration system, determine a second value indicative of a remaining filter life of the filter cartridge that is determined in a different manner than the first value, compare the first value to the second value to determine which value indicates a least amount of life remaining for the filter cartridge, and transmit an indication of the least amount of life remaining for the filter cartridge based on the comparison.
Systems, methods, and apparatuses for implementing a vehicle safety lock assembly
Systems, methods, and apparatuses for implementing a vehicle safety lock assembly are described herein. For example, according to one embodiment there is a vehicle safety lock assembly system including a sensor of a docking unit to sense a nearby mobile device, in which the docking unit is coupled with a vehicle having an electronic control unit, an ignition system, and a first relay, in which the first relay is to signal from the electronic control unit to the ignition system to start the vehicle's ignition; the docking unit to request a first inhibitory signal from a cloud service and to forward the first inhibitory signal to the electronic control unit to inhibit the first relay; a transmitter to send a docking signal to the cloud service indicating that the mobile device has been docked at the docking unit; a receiver to receive a registration confirmation signal indicating that the mobile device is registered with the cloud service; the docking unit to send a second inhibitory signal, responsive to receiving the registration confirmation signal to restrict functionality of pre-selected features on the mobile device when the mobile device is docked; the docking unit to send an authentication request to the cloud service requesting authentication for the mobile device; the docking unit to receive authentication from the cloud service and to forward the authentication to the electronic control unit, in which the electronic control unit is to authenticate the mobile device based on the authentication; and the docking unit to transmit a releasing signal through the electronic control unit upon authentication to start the vehicle's ignition. Other related embodiments are disclosed.
