Remote startup system and center server

A remote startup system includes a terminal of a user, a center server that is configured to communicate with the terminal, and a vehicle that is configured to communicate with the center server, and starts up an engine of the vehicle according to a startup request transmitted from the terminal to the center server. The remote startup system includes a position information acquisition unit that acquires position information of the vehicle, a time information acquisition unit that acquires time information, and a controller that changes a performance manner of the startup of the engine based on the startup request including whether the startup of the engine is permitted according to the position information of the vehicle and the time information when the startup request is transmitted from the terminal to the center server.

ELECTRIC STARTING SYSTEM FOR AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

An electric starting system for an internal combustion engine is provided. The starting system includes a battery, a starter motor, and a blower housing. The starter motor is configured to start the internal combustion engine. The battery is integrated with the blower housing.

A control apparatus including: a unit configured to communicate with on-vehicle control devices via a communication line; a storage unit configured to store therein a reference table that defines whether each of the on-vehicle control devices is a permitted or unpermitted device; a monitoring unit configured to monitor whether there is a user operation that instructs start of an engine; and a determination unit configured to determine whether to permit start of the engine according to user operation, on the basis of the reference table and a state of update of a control program in the on-vehicle control device when user operation is detected. The permitted device is an on-vehicle control device for which start of the engine during update of the control program is permitted, and the unpermitted device is an on-vehicle control device for which start of the engine during update of the control program is not permitted.

STARTER MOTOR WITH INTEGRATED SOLID STATE SWITCH

A starter motor connected to a power supply and operable to start an internal combustion engine includes an outer housing and a solid state switching device associated with the outer housing. The outer housing encloses a commutator and a series of brushes. The solid state switching device is movable between an open position and a closed position. The current flow from the power supply through the commutator is prevented when the solid state switching device is in the open position.

Method for controlling starting of vehicle upon failure of camshaft position sensor

A method for controlling starting of a vehicle upon a failure of a camshaft position sensor includes performing a fuel injection and ignition at a particular timing for starting an engine of the vehicle; measuring a battery voltage of the vehicle after the performing of the fuel injection and ignition for starting the engine; and when the battery voltage rises over a predetermined value, determining that the fuel injection and the ignition are performed at a normal timing.

VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM

A vehicle control system includes a boost device, a braking unit, a cell motor, and a start operating unit. The boost device boosts a braking force applied by a foot brake to a vehicle with an output voltage from a battery. The braking unit, which is different than the foot brake, brakes the vehicle appropriately and keeps the braking force even in a case that the output voltage is not supplied from the battery, or which braking unit does not require the output voltage from the battery. The cell motor is driven by an output voltage from the battery and starts the engine. The start operation unit starts the cell motor, wherein the vehicle control system has a function not to start the cell motor when the start operation unit is operated, unless the braking unit is in operation.

WORK VEHICLE HAVING ENGINE DRIVE CHECKING CIRCUIT

A work vehicle includes an engine controller for driving an engine, a power supply line, a power supply control line, and a display signal line. When a check switch switchable into a safe position corresponding to safe drive of the engine and a non-safe position is switched to the safe position, the power supply control line renders a power supply relay ON. The display signal line transmits a signal indicative of the switched state of the check switch to a display.

An engine starting device includes: a portable unit including a transmitting unit capable of transmitting an ID code; a control unit including a receiving unit receiving the ID code, and a determination unit determining whether the received ID code is a pre-registered legitimate ID; a main body part including an operation knob rotationally operated between an off position and an on position; and a regulation unit configured to regulate a rotational operation of the operation knob, and to release a rotation-regulated state of the operation knob on condition that the received ID code is determined as a legitimate ID. The regulation unit is attached to a left side part of the main body part and the control unit is attached to a right side part of the main body part, as seen from a driver seat-side of the vehicle.

A method of enabling operation of an ignition system for outdoor power equipment may include monitoring status of a plurality of switches associated with respective components of the equipment where at least one of the respective components corresponds to one or more binary start fault operators, and setting a start enabling status for the one or more 5 binary start fault operators responsive to actuation of a start fault clearance operator.

Starter motor with integrated solid state switch

A starter motor that includes an integrated solid state switching device. The solid state switching device is mounted within the outer housing of the starter motor such that the entire starter motor can be installed as a single unit. In one embodiment, the solid state switching device includes a MOSFET positioned on the low side of the starter motor. The solid state switching device opens and closes to control the flow of current through the starter motor. In another embodiment, the solid state switching device is positioned on the high side of the starter motor. The solid state switching device can include a speed sensing circuit to prevent operation of the starter motor when the internal combustion engine is operation, a crank limiting circuit that limits the amount of time the starter motor can operate without starting the internal combustion engine and/or a thermal limiting circuit to prevent operation during overheating of the starter motor.
