Fuel injection device for internal combustion engine
A fuel injection device for an internal combustion engine includes: a high/low pressure fuel system configured to inject fuel into cylinders 12a to 12d through an in-cylinder injector 44; and a low pressure fuel injection system configured to inject fuel into an intake manifold 14 through an intake path injector 46. An ECU 60 incorporates: an idling stop/start unit 68 that stops the engine when an idling stop condition is satisfied, and restarts the engine when the idling stop condition is no longer satisfied; and a fuel injection control unit 70 that causes, after the idling stop condition is no longer satisfied, fuel remaining in the first fuel injection unit to be injected into the cylinder, before rotation of a crank shaft 32 starts, so that the engine 10 is automatically restarted, and causes fuel injection to be started from the second fuel injection unit when predetermined condition is satisfied.
CONTROL APPARATUS FOR HYBRID VEHICLE
A fuel supply apparatus is operated so as to increase an upon-stopping fuel pressure in accordance with an increase in an upon-stopping vehicle speed, the upon-stopping fuel pressure being a fuel pressure in a state in which an internal combustion engine is intermittently stopped, the upon-stopping vehicle speed being a vehicle speed upon intermittently stopping the internal combustion engine.
Control device for starting an engine of a vehicle
A control device for a vehicle includes an electronic control unit which executes electric assist of rotation of an engine crankshaft by a motor in association with engagement of a clutch, at the time of an ignition start in which fuel injection and sparking are executed with respect to a target cylinder, which has been stopped in an expansion stroke. The electronic control unit corrects at least one of the initiation timing of sparking which is to be initially performed in the target cylinder at the time of the ignition start and an electric assist torque which is to be used for the ignition start, on the basis of a combination of the relationship between an acquisition value and an estimation value of a torque indication value, and the relationship between an acquisition value and an estimation value of an ignition delay time.
CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A control device for an internal combustion engine executes an automatic stop control and automatic start-up control for an intermittent operation of the internal combustion engine. In the automatic start-up control, the control device is configured to commence a restart by starting fuel injection from a fuel-injection-start cylinder. In the automatic stop control, the control device is configured to: execute an air-fuel-ratio rich processing that controls an air-fuel ratio such that the air-fuel ratio becomes richer than the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio before a start of the fuel cut; execute a throttle closing processing that closes a throttle valve in synchronization with the fuel cut; and execute a throttle opening processing approaches the atmospheric air pressure before a cylinder destined to be the fuel-injection-start cylinder later completes the last intake stroke in the course of the engine stop after execution of the throttle closing processing.
Internal Combustion Engine Having Dedicated EGR Cylinder(s) and Start-Stop Operation
A method of implementing start-stop in an internal combustion engine, the engine having exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) from at least one dedicated EGR (D-EGR) cylinder. For stopping the engine, the camshaft is locked, and a hydraulic cam phaser is used to cushion the engine inertia. The engine is stopped such that one of the D-EGR cylinders is in top-dead center position. For starting the engine, that D-EGR cylinder is fuel-injected, and exhaust bleed-off performed if necessary.
Start controller for engine
In the cases where a reverse operation of a crankshaft is performed after fuel injection and ignition in a cylinder in a power stroke and it is determined that an engine start is failed, a starter motor is operated, and fuel injection and ignition are executed in the cylinder in the compression stroke to start an engine.
SYSTEMS AND METHOD FOR A COLD START SYSTEM FOR A GASEOUS FUEL ENGINE
Apparatuses, methods, and systems for starting an internal combustion engine under cold start conditions are disclosed. A combustible mixture is supplied to a plurality of cylinders of the internal combustion engine, where a number of ignition devices are operably connected with less than all of the plurality of cylinders so that at least one of the plurality of cylinders does not include an ignition device. In one form, only one ignition device is included in a bank of cylinders. In response to a cold start condition, a spark by the plurality of ignition devices is generated to cause ignition of the combustible mixture and start the internal combustion engine. In response to a normal or non-cold starting condition, the internal combustion engine is started by compression ignition where none of the ignition devices generate a spark.
CONTROLLER AND CONTROL METHOD FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
In response to a restarting request generated during a stopping period, in which fuel injection is stopped to automatically stop engine operation, either starter starting or combustion starting is selected. In the starter starting, the engine is restarted using a starter motor. In the combustion starting, the engine is restarted through fuel injection and ignition without using the starter motor. If the rotational resistance acting on the crankshaft is determined to be of such a magnitude that the combustion starting is impossible, the starter starting is carried out in response to the restarting request generated during the stopping period.
Control device for vehicle
An electronic control unit is configured to calculate an amount of divergence of an actual MG rotational speed with respect to a reference rotational speed at the start-up of an internal combustion engine, and correct a generation timing of a compensation torque at the next start-up of the internal combustion engine based on the amount of divergence.
Starting control device for engine
A starting control device for an engine includes an ECU configured to: i) execute an autonomous starting control in which the ECU injects fuel into the cylinder from a fuel injection valve after a crank shaft rotates reversely before the crank shaft stops its rotation and then ignites an air-fuel mixture using an ignition plug to start the engine without using a starter motor; ii) determine whether a pressure in the cylinder increasing due to the reverse rotation is equal to or greater than a predetermined pressure at a time point of firing of the air-fuel mixture by the ignition; and iii) prohibit starting of the engine under the autonomous starting control when the ECU determines that the pressure in the cylinder is not equal to or greater than the predetermined pressure.
