Control system for vehicle
A control system is intended for a vehicle having an automatic stop-restart function that automatically stops an engine when a predetermined automatic stop condition is satisfied and restarts the engine when a predetermined restart condition is satisfied during an automatic engine stop. The control system has an automatic stop restricting function that, when the host vehicle is located in a first predetermined area before a temporary stop sign, prohibits an automatic stop of the engine. When a preceding vehicle is located in the first predetermined area, the automatic stop restricting function is deactivated.
Methods and system for starting an engine
Systems and methods for starting an engine of a hybrid vehicle are described. In one example, the method uses the engine to generate larger amounts of thermal energy while the engine is rotated under power of an electric machine. The systems and methods described herein may be applied to series and parallel hybrid vehicles.
Method and control unit for carrying out an engine stop of an internal combustion engine
A control unit is provided for a vehicle having an internal combustion engine with a shaft, which can be coupled to an electric machine or decoupled from the electric machine. The control unit is designed to couple the electric machine to the internal combustion engine during an engine stop of the internal combustion engine. The control unit causes the electric machine to guide the shaft of the internal combustion engine. The control unit determines that a speed of the guided shaft is equal to or less than a speed threshold value and, in response thereto, decouples the electric machine from the internal combustion engine, such that the internal combustion engine stops without being guided by the electric machine.
Idling-stop control apparatus
An idling-stop control apparatus includes an idling-stop controller and an auxiliary-machine controller. The idling-stop controller is configured to automatically stop an engine to cause the engine to be in a state in which idling is stopped in a case where a predetermined condition for stopping idling is satisfied and configured to automatically restart the engine in a case where a predetermined condition for restarting the engine is satisfied. The auxiliary-machine controller is configured to control a drive state of an auxiliary machine that is to be driven by the engine. The auxiliary-machine controller is configured to control the drive state of the auxiliary machine that is driven by the engine such that, in a case where the engine is automatically restarted from the state in which idling is stopped by the idling-stop controller, a time differential value of an engine speed of the engine is constant.
Method for Starting an Internal Combustion Engine of a Motor Vehicle, and Motor Vehicle Comprising an Internal Combustion Engine
A method for starting an internal combustion engine and a motor vehicle are provided. The internal combustion engine includes a plurality of cylinders. To start the internal combustion engine while deactivated, a predefined amount of working gas is introduced into the cylinder that fires first. A crankshaft of the internal combustion engine is driven by an electric motor and by the movement of a piston coupled to the crankshaft and associated with the cylinder that fires first to introduce the predefined amount of working gas. Subsequently, the internal combustion engine is started by the ignition of a mixture including the predefined amount of working gas and a predefined amount of fuel inside the cylinder that fires first.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING START OF ENGINE-DRIVEN GENERATOR
An engine-driven generator may comprise an engine, a generator, a motor, a battery, a power supply circuit, and a processor. The processor may be configured to detect that the battery has a sufficient power supply capability that enables a piston of the engine to pass over a compression top dead center, at the start of the engine. The processor may permit ignition of the engine in a case where the processor has detected that the battery has the sufficient power supply capability. The processor may avoid the ignition of the engine in a case where the processor has not detected that the battery has the sufficient power supply capability.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR STARTING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A method for starting an internal combustion engine (ICE) having a crankshaft and an electric turning machine (ETM) operatively connected to the crankshaft comprises energizing an absolute position sensor adapted for providing an indication of an angular position of a rotor of the ETM and applying a current to the ETM to generate a sufficient torque to rotate the crankshaft.
STARTER-GENERATOR SPEED CONTROL
Systems and techniques for engine starter control may include determining a current speed band associated with an engine start for a current time increment, determining a previous speed band associated with the engine start for a previous time increment within the engine start, receiving a measured current value, determining a target current value based on the current speed band, the previous speed band, whether an acceleration or deceleration occurred between the current speed band and the previous speed band, and a mode of a system for engine starter control, and adjusting a current for the engine start based on the target current value.
Internal Combustion Engine for a Motor Vehicle, in Particular for a Car
An internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle includes an output shaft and a spring element which can rotate with the output shaft which is to be tensioned as a result of a deactivation of the internal combustion engine by a rotation of the output shaft, where a spring force can be provided by the spring element and where by the spring force the output shaft can be set into rotation in the event of a start following the deactivation. Via a locking device the output shaft is to be secured against a rotation after tensioning the spring element and while the spring element is tensioned. A blocking device can be shifted between a blocking state securing a first part of the spring element, which has a second part non-rotationally connected to the output shaft, against a rotation and a release state releasing the first part for a rotation.
SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING STARTING OF ENGINE
In an engine starting system, a first controller activates, in response to a driver's starting request, a first starting device to rotate the rotating shaft of an engine. A second controller is communicably connected to the first controller. The second controller recognizes rotation of the rotor of a second starting device resulting from an activation of the first starting device. The second controller starts a power running operation of the second starting device based on the recognition of the rotation of the rotor. The first controller determines whether the power running operation of the second starting device has been started. The first controller deactivates, when it is determined that the power running operation has been started, the first starting device before a rotational angular position of the rotating shaft of the engine arrives at a compression top dead center of the engine.
