Method for black-starting an electrical grid
Methods for black-starting an electrical grid (2) are described herein. For example, a method comprising disconnecting the wind farm (1) from the grid at a first location, said first location being located between the electrical grid (2) and the energy storage (16) with the associated converter (17), energizing the AC export cable (12) using said energy storage (16) and the associated converter (17), energizing at least one part of the wind farm electrical infrastructure via said export cable (12) using said energy storage (16) and the associated converter (17), re-establishing energy supply to said wind farm electrical infrastructure by said wind turbine generators (3, 4), and reconnecting the wind farm (1) to said electrical grid (2) at said first location.
Wind turbine and method for controlling the wind turbine using an operating characteristic curve
A wind turbine includes a tower, an aerodynamic rotor operable at a variable rotor speed and having a plurality of rotor blades each having an adjustable rotor blade setting angle and a generator for generating an electrical output power. An operating characteristic curve is prespecified for operating the wind turbine. The operating characteristic curve indicates a relationship between the rotor speed and the output power. A controller is provided, which sets the output power in accordance with the operating characteristic curve depending on the rotor speed. The the operating characteristic curve has a starting rotation speed to which the rotor speed increases as soon as the wind turbine starts when a sufficient wind speed is reached. The starting rotation speed is defined depending on a tower natural frequency of the wind turbine and/or depending on a detected turbulence measure of the prevailing wind.
Black start restoration
Embodiments herein described provide systems and techniques for performing black start operations. For example, one embodiment provides a method for performing black start operations. The method generally includes operating a wind turbine in a wind park in a first mode to provide power to an alternating-current (AC) grid using a control system. The control system may include a reactive power control leg and an active power control leg. The method also includes switching operation of the wind turbine from the first mode to a second mode based on an indication to perform a black start of an electrical grid and by activating a controller with an integral action to thereby increase output power of the wind turbine, the controller being coupled between the reactive power control leg and the active power control leg, and providing power to the electrical grid while operating in the second mode.
METHOD FOR HEATING A GENERATOR OF A WIND POWER INSTALLATION
Provided is a method for heating a generator of a wind power installation during or before starting the installation. The generator is a permanent magnet synchronous generator configured to generate a stator current comprising at least one three-phase current. The installation is configured as a gearless installation and is connected to an electrical supply network for feeding electrical power into the network. The installation comprises a converter, connected to the generator, to control the generator to feed electrical power into the network. The method comprises rotating the rotor with a low rotational speed below a first limit and operating the converter such that the generator generates the stator current and electrical power, and no electrical power is fed into the electrical supply network. At least one portion of the stator current substantially circulates through the generator and the converter to consume power in generator windings to heat the generator.
WIND MACHINE CONTROL AND MONITOR SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems and methods for controlling and monitoring agricultural equipment. The system includes a monitoring module that communicates with a remote user device to remotely turn a wind machine on or off.
Method of starting a wind park
Provided is a method for starting a wind park including plural wind turbines connectable in a collector system connectable to a utility grid, the method including: starting at least one first wind turbine, each being equipped with an utility grid independent energy supply and a grid forming function, to produce electrical energy from wind energy, thereby utilizing the respective grid independent energy supply for starting; performing the grid forming function by the first wind turbine to achieve a reference voltage in the collector system; starting at least one second wind turbine and/or at least one third wind turbine to produce energy by conversion of wind energy, thereby utilizing energy provided in the collector system for starting.
Wind Turbine Assembly
A wind turbine assembly including a rotor system, a generator, a first converter, a second converter, and a controller system. The first converter includes a first bridge circuit having a plurality of switch members each having a controllable switch. The second converter includes a second bridge circuit having a plurality of switch members each having a controllable switch. The controller system is adapted to provide a drying operation for second converter including short circuiting the second converter with the controllable switches of the second bridge in circuit, and supplying power from the generator through the first converter to the short circuited second converter for drying the second converter.

The system includes a wind turbine assembly with the wind turbine assembly including a plurality of wind turbine blades, a control system, a wind turbine blade positioning motor, a support structure, a solar energy collecting system including a thin film solar amorphous silicon photovoltaic material secured to the wind turbine support structure, and a wind turbine blade positioning control system that is operatively connected to the solar energy collecting system and the wind turbine blade positioning motor.
Controlling wind turbine power production within power ramp rate limit for wind power plant
A method and associated control arrangement are disclosed for controlling a power output of a wind power plant (WPP) according to a predetermined power ramp rate limit, the WPP comprising a plurality of wind turbine generators (WTGs). The method comprises receiving a first signal indicating that a first WTG is in a ready state to begin producing power. The method further comprises, upon determining that, responsive to the received first signal, beginning power production of the first WTG at a predetermined default power ramp rate would cause the power output of the WPP to exceed the power ramp rate limit, controlling power production of the first WTG using at least one of: a first delay, a power ramp rate reference less than the default power ramp rate, and a power reference less than a nominal power output of the first WTG.
