Ski oscillation damping apparatus
An apparatus which damps oscillation in a ski, the apparatus comprising an enclosure, a cavity encompassed by the enclosure, and an aggregate located in the cavity. The cavity has a dimension in a direction perpendicular to a gliding surface of the ski which is larger than a thickness of the ski in a location adjacent to the enclosure. The aggregate, in its tapped density, occupies substantially less volume than a volume of the cavity, thereby allowing significant travel of the aggregate in the cavity. Oscillation accelerates and decelerates the enclosure, resulting in accelerations and decelerations of the aggregate which cause it to acquire and lose kinetic energy. The aggregate's acquisition and loss of kinetic energy attenuates the oscillation.
Snowboard assembly
A snowboard assembly includes a snowboard and a suspension system operable to absorb shock and vibration that are generated during use of the assembly. The snowboard is a typical snowboard and the suspension system comprises a suspension platform and two or more struts. Each strut is coupled with the snowboard and the suspension platform via two couplings. In a preferred embodiment, a single strut with two couplings are used to couple the suspension platform with the snowboard.

A SKI HAVING A STABILIZING SECTION, A PAIR OF SKIS AND A STABILIZATION DEVICE
A ski has an upwardly rising front tip, a rear tail, and a midsection extending along a longitudinal axis of the ski between the front tip and the rear tail, the midsection including a waist section adapted for mounting a binding thereon. At least one stabilizing section is located between the front tip and the waist section or between the waist section and the rear tail. The at least one stabilizing section is offset from the longitudinal axis of the ski toward a first side of the ski. The stabilizing section may offset, toward and inside or an outside of the ski, a center of mass, a level of stiffness, or a damping effect of the stabilizing section. A pair of skis comprises such left and right skis. A stabilization device may be mounted on an ordinary ski.
