SKI WITH COMPOSITE STRUCTURE HAVING ARCUATE FIBERS
20190329121 · 2019-10-31 · ·

A ski includes an elongate core and a fiber reinforced composite layer disposed over the elongate core. The fiber reinforced composite layer has a first plurality of fibers fixed in a resin and a second plurality of fibers fixed in the resin. The first plurality of fibers extend along a first arcuate path from a left side of the ski to a right side of the ski such that the angle of the first fibers with respect to the centerline increases from the left side to the right side. The second plurality of fibers extend along a second arcuate path from the right side of the ski to the left side of the ski such that the angle of the second fibers with respect to the centerline increases from the right side to the left side. In some embodiments the first and second plurality of fibers are symmetrically positioned in the composite layer.

Watersports board

The present invention provides a kind of sports equipment, particularly sports equipment for water sport or snow sport, comprising a main body made of light rigid material and having at least one built-in framework that is harder than the main body. The sports equipment further comprises a deck fixed on the top surface of the main body and configured to be harder than the main body. Compared with prior sport equipment, the equipment of the invention has the advantages such as light weight, durability, collision resistance and easy handling.

Skis with reinforcement layer cutout

A ski may define a body that defines a tip, a tail opposite the tip, a top sheet, a base extending from the tip to the tail and opposite the top sheet, a core layer positioned between the base and the top sheet, and a reinforcement layer positioned between the top sheet and the base. The reinforcement layer defines an aperture extending through the reinforcement layer and positioned within a first third of a length of the ski, the length defined from the tip to the tail.

SNOWBOARD, ASSEMBLY, AND TRAINING ACCESSORY
20190247735 · 2019-08-15 ·

A snowboard, snowboard assembly, and snowboard accessory for converting a snowboard into training snowboard. There is a board and a pivot member/strip. The pivot member/strip is elongated member protruding from the underside of the board along the main axis of the board. The pivot member/strip has a base width that is greater than a width of the flat bottom of the strip and greater than a height of the strip. The flat bottom of the strip is flanked by beveled edges along each side and at the front and back. The strip is either integral to the board or is couple thereto by a coupling structure (e.g. adhesive, binding, snaps, clips). The strip has a trapezoidal cross-section. Flanking beveled edges may have an acute angle with respect to the base and/or an obtuse angle with respect to the flat bottom surface.

Sports equipment that employ force-absorbing elements

Embodiments are directed towards a helmet adapted for use by a human being for a variety of activities. The helmet includes a shell, a plurality of FAEs, and at least one rigid component. The shell maybe configured and arranged to cover a portion of a wearer's head. The plurality of FAEs may be separately positioned adjacent to the shell's interior surface. Each FAE may include at least one disc spring that is adapted for absorbing forces. The at least one rigid component may be disposed within the shell and adjacent to the plurality of FAEs. In this way, the FAEs may be between the shell's interior surface and the at least one rigid component. When a force is applied to a location on the shell's exterior surface, it may be substantially absorbed by at least one of the FAEs positioned adjacent to the location on the shell's interior surface.
