In order to increase the efficiency, in respect of the quantity of refrigerant to be compressed, of a reciprocating piston compressor for refrigerant, comprising a compressor housing having at least one compressor stage that has at least one cylinder unit, wherein a piston is movably arranged in the cylinder unit, a cylinder drive that is arranged in the compressor housing, for the at least one piston, a valve plate that closes off a cylinder chamber and is provided with at least one suction valve which, for its part, has a suction opening, arranged in the valve plate and closable by a suction vane, and has at least one outlet valve with an outlet opening, wherein the at least one suction valve and the at least one outlet valve are associated with the respective cylinder chamber, and a cylinder head that is arranged on an opposite side of the valve plate to the cylinder chamber, it is proposed that the valve plate should have, on its side facing the cylinder chamber, a recess, which is arranged inside an external contour of an abutment face of the suction vane that is associated with the suction opening and which extends from the suction opening and is open toward this abutment face.

LIQUID PUMPING CASSETTES AND ASSOCIATED PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION MANIFOLD AND RELATED METHODS

A fluid-handling cassette comprising a plurality of diaphragm valves and pumps is configured to have its actuation ports located along a thin or narrow edge of the cassette. Actuation channels within the cassette lead from the actuation ports to actuation chambers of the valves and pumps in a space between plates that comprise the cassette. The individual plates have a nominal thickness that is sufficient to provide a rigid ceiling for the actuation channels, but sufficiently thin to minimize the overall thickness of the cassette. The cassette can be plugged into or unplugged from an actuation receptacle or a manifold by its narrow edge. A plurality of such cassettes can be stacked together or spaced apart from each other to form a cassette assembly, providing for a convenient way to install and remove the cassette assembly from its actuation receptacle. The arrangement allows for an improved way of connecting a complex cassette assembly to its associated pressure distribution manifold without the use of a plurality of flexible connecting tubes between the two.

An improved inlet valve system for a cylinder chamber of a reciprocating compressor and a method for utilizing a high pressure gas source to control an inlet valve system for a cylinder chamber of a reciprocating compressor is disclosed. The inlet valve system may include an unloader, a valve assembly including a cylindrical valve body circumferentially disposed about a central axis of the inlet valve system, and a control valve actuator including a control valve body. The valve assembly may include a plurality of inlet valve elements disposed respectively in valve element ports fluidly connected to a control valve passage. A high pressure gas source is utilized to hold open and close the inlet valve elements via the control valve passage in order to control the capacity of the reciprocating compressor.

A compressor valve assembly is disclosed. The valve assembly includes a guide having a cylindrical cup portion and a cylindrical stem portion that extends axially in a socket where the guide can be removably affixed to a stop plate. The disclosed valve assembly is conducive to user-friendly serviceability while realizing an increased flow area with operational capability at relatively higher pressures and practically no susceptibility to bending stresses.

A check valve assembly for a compressor or a vacuum pump includes a valve body adapted to receive a valve plate pivoting between a first open position and a second closed position. The valve body is connected to a discharge port of a compressor unit or to the intake port of a vacuum pump. A second fluid conduit is attachable to the valve body and is connected to an external network. The assembly includes a shaft and at least one bearing for connecting the valve plate to the valve body. The valve plate includes an elongated area having a hollow tube through which the shaft is inserted for rotatably mounting the valve plate. At least one bearing is positioned on the shaft within the hollow tube.

A hermetic compressor equipped with a valve assembly may include a valve plate having one suction port and a plurality of discharge ports; a suction valve provided at a first surface of the valve plate; a discharge valve provided at a second surface of the valve plate and having one fixing portion and a plurality of opening and closing portions that extends from the one fixing portion to respectively open and close the plurality of discharge ports; and a valve stopper that is fixed to the valve plate and limits a degree of opening of the opening and closing portions of the discharge valve. Accordingly, the opening and closing portions of the discharge valve may be reduced in size to thereby reduce inertia of the discharge valve. Thus, response of the discharge valve may be increased while simplifying a structure and assembly of the discharge valve.

The swash plate compressor includes: a first orifice hole through which the refrigerant in the crank chamber passes; a second orifice hole communicating between the first orifice hole and the suction chamber; an intermediate flow path configured to connect the first orifice hole and the second orifice hole; and the valve plate inserted into the rear housing and having a suction chamber pressure-maintaining space connected to the suction chamber and configured to maintain a pressure equal to a pressure in the suction chamber.

The main pump is a swash plate variable displacement type split flow hydraulic pump. The pressure gauge measures an intermediate pressure of the discharged fluid at a merging point between the first pressure oil supply passage and the second pressure oil supply passage. The discharge flow passage is controlled based on a pressure value obtained by the pressure gauge.

The discharge valves include a valve neck configured to have one end fixed in a plate shape having elasticity and extend along an arrangement direction of the plurality of discharge ports from the one end; and a valve head configured to be provided at the other end of the valve neck to cover each of the discharge ports. According to the compressor of the disclosure, it is possible to manufacture the compressor compactly and reduce manufacturing and maintenance costs of the compressor by reducing the area occupied by the plurality of discharge valves.
