Method of Construction for High Cycle Fatigue Resistant Pressure Vessels in Hydrogen Service

A method and system are described for a gas booster, preferably for use with hydrogen. A linear actuator can provide compression in first and second compression vessels. The liner of the compression vessels can be placed in compressive stress so that any cracks that form do not spread. Compressive stress can be applied using, at least, a shrink fit process or a wire wrapping process. The compressive stress will help the inner liner to resist fatigue and cracking due to pressure cycling and corrosion by materials being compressed in the compression vessels. This also protects the chamber jacket from wear and tear.

A flow restrictor is adapted for application in a bearing arrangement between a piston and a cylinder of a gas compressor. The compressor includes a protective block that involves the cylinder externally, and also includes at least one inner cavity, which is fluidly fed by a discharge flow resulting from a compression movement exerted by the piston inside the cylinder. The compressor includes a bearing-arrangement clearance that separates the piston and an inner wall of the cylinder. The compressor includes at least one flow restrictor provided with a housing that associates fluidly the inner cavity to the bearing-arrangement clearance. The flow restrictor is associated to the housing by a process of at least partial plastic deformation inside the housing, the flow restrictor being provided with channels for passage of fluid, the plastic deformation being sized for limiting the gas flow through the inner cavity to the bearing-arrangement clearance.

Novel Reciprocating Pump

Cylinder liner for internal combustion engine

A cylinder liner for an engine block includes a first engine block bonding surface, and a second engine block bonding surface that provides a lower heat transfer coefficient between the cylinder liner and an adjacent engine block material than the first engine block bonding surface. The second engine block bonding surface extends a substantial portion of the axial length of the cylinder liner.

AIR COMPRESSOR CYLINDER LINER

A cylinder liner for providing reduced oil carry-over in an air-assisted fuel injection system comprising an air compression piston wherein the cylinder liner and air compression system together in part define an air compression chamber, the cylinder liner comprising: an outer surface; and a plurality of projections on the outer surface: wherein the plurality of projections are arranged such that oil-laden air drawn up from an oil reservoir around the outer surface of the cylinder liner is forced into a labyrinthine path to increase the time the oil-laden air is in contact with the outer surface and increase the amount of oil adhering to the outer surface to minimise the amount of oil carry-over entering the air compression chamber.
