Disposable components for fluid line autoconnect systems and methods
Components for a medical infusion fluid handling system, such as an APD system, in which one or more lines (such as solution lines), spikes or other connection ports may be automatically capped and/or de-capped. This feature may provide advantages, such as a reduced likelihood of contamination since no human interaction is required to de-cap and connect the one or more lines, the spikes or the other connection ports. For example, a fluid handling cassette may include one or more caps that cover a corresponding spike and include a raised and/or recessed feature to assist in removal of the one or more caps from the cassette. A solution line cap may include a hole and a recess, a groove or other feature to engage with a spike cap and enable removal of the spike cap.
Diaphragm assembly for a pulsatile fluid pump
A diaphragm assembly for a pulsatile fluid pump includes an edge-mounted flexible diaphragm, the diaphragm configured for operation cyclically between a diastole mode and a systole mode. The diaphragm assembly further includes a systolic distribution brace having an interior wall configured to cup a portion of the outside surface of the diaphragm, and a diastolic plate, embedded in the diaphragm, mechanically coupled to a portion of the inside surface of the diaphragm. In the course of the systole mode, force is applied across the maximum radial extent of the systolic distribution brace, so as to impart tension in the diaphragm around the periphery of the systolic distribution brace. In the course of the diastole mode, force is applied across the maximum radial extent of the diastolic plate, so as to impart tension in the diaphragm around the diastolic plate.
Disposable alternating tangential flow filtration units
Disclosed herein are robust disposable alternating tangential flow (ATF) housing and diaphragm pump units and associated methods of manufacturing, testing, wetting, and using the same.
PISTON FOR PUMP AND PUMP
A piston for a pump and a pump are provided. A piston bladder (2) of the piston is cylindrical in shape, a chamber (20) is a cylindrical chamber, the chamber (20) has as inner diameter of 9.2±0.5 mm, the chamber (20) has a depth of 3.8±0.5 mm, the piston bladder (2) has a wall with a thickness of 0.5±0.3 mm, and the piston bladder (2) has an outer circumferential surface, a part of the outer circumferential surface connected to a base plate (1) protrudes outwards radially to form a protective sleeve (21).
Dense Phase Pump With Easily Replaceable Components
A dense phase pump has two housings that are attached together using a single releasable fastener. The fastener can be released to allow the two housings to be separated thereby providing access to replaceable components. The replaceable components may include one or more pinch valves or one or more barrier elements. A pinch valve for a dense phase pump has a shape or profile for aligning the pinch valve when the pinch valve is installed in a pinch valve body. The pinch valve optionally has two end flanges, with each end flange having a shaped periphery. The two end flanges may have the same size and shape so that the pinch valve can be installed in either of two orientations that are inverse. A dense phase pump has a pump chamber that can be purged by purge gas that enters the pump off-axis from a purge path axis.
Apparatus for pumping fluid
The present invention includes an electrochemical actuator pump and method of making the same, comprising a membrane electrode assembly comprising an ion exchange membrane, a first and a second catalyzed porous electrode in contact with opposing sides of the ion exchange membrane; a first gas chamber in fluid communication with the first electrode, and a second gas chamber in fluid communication with the second electrode; and a controller for controllably reversing the polarity of a voltage source electrically coupled to the first and second electrodes, wherein the controller causes a first polarity at the first electrode to function as an anode and the second electrode to function as a cathode, wherein the first polarity simultaneously decreases the hydrogen gas pressure in the first hydrogen gas chamber and increases the hydrogen gas pressure in the second hydrogen gas chamber, with additional embodiment using MOF or Ni—H batteries.
Improvements In and Relating to Pumps
A multiple cavity reciprocating positive displacement pump (200) comprises a plurality of pump cavities (222), each pump cavity (222) including at least an inlet valve (228) and an outlet valve (231), wherein respective inlet valves (228) are in fluid communication with a common inlet (224) and respective outlet valves (231) are in fluid communication with a common outlet (238), and wherein the pump cavities (222) are arranged about a pump axis (AR) and around said common inlet (224) and said common outlet (238).
DIAPHRAGM FOR A MULTI-CHAMBER WOBBLE PLATE PUMP
A multi-chamber wobble plate pump that includes a housing with an inlet port, an outlet port and a plurality of pump chambers. The pump further includes a plurality of inlet valves each located within one of the pump chambers to control fluid flow from the inlet port to the pump chambers. The pump also includes a plurality of outlet valves that control fluid flow from the pump chambers to the outlet port. A wobble plate is coupled to a diaphragm and a plurality of pistons. Rotation of the wobble plate moves the pistons within the pump chambers to draw in and force fluid out of the chambers. The diaphragm has at least one flex area with a leading edge and a trailing edge. The trailing edge of the diaphragm is thicker than the leading edge. The diaphragm may also have a plurality of diaphragm piston openings each with a diaphragm piston opening centerline. The wobble plate may have a plurality of wobble plate piston openings, each wobble plate piston opening having a wobble plate piston open centerline that is offset from one of diaphragm piston opening centerlines.
