A two-cavity pump having a single valve in one cavity and a bidirectional valve in another cavity is disclosed. The pump has a side wall closed by two end walls for containing a fluid. An actuator is disposed between the two end walls and functions as a portion of a common end wall of the two cavities. The actuator causes an oscillatory motion of the common end walls to generate radial pressure oscillations of the fluid within both cavities. An isolator flexibly supports the actuator. The first cavity includes the single valve disposed in one of a first and second aperture in the end wall to enable fluid flow in one direction. The second cavity includes the bidirectional valve disposed in one of a third and fourth aperture in the end wall to enable fluid flow in both directions.

A double diaphragm pump has an electromagnetic drive mechanism in which an electromagnetic coil is located between two permanents magnets of like polarity that are alternately attracted to the electromagnetic coil as the polarity of the electromagnetic coil changes. The electromagnetic coil and the permanent magnets are located within a piston assembly that is caused to reciprocate via the change in polarity of the electromagnetic coil. In a second embodiment, there are a plurality of electromagnetic coils arranged in two adjacent rows that surround a shaft with a set of a plurality of permanent magnets located between each pair of electromagnetic coils.

A rod extends through the supply liquid-side sub-pumping chamber, the supply liquid-side pumping chamber, the waste liquid-side pumping chamber and the waste liquid-side sub-pumping chamber. The rod is connected to the reciprocation mechanism and the driving source to transmit a driving force of the driving source to the reciprocation mechanism. Sealing members are arranged, respectively, in walls through which the rod extends to partition the supply liquid-side pumping chamber and the supply liquid-side sub-pumping chamber as well as the waste liquid-side pumping chamber and the waste liquid-side sub-pumping chamber.

The second housing forms, together with an actuator, a second blower chamber. A second top plate portion includes a second vent hole that allows an inside of the second blower chamber to communicate with an outside of the second blower chamber. The vibrating plate includes an opening portion and a third vent hole, the opening portion allowing an outer periphery of the first blower chamber and an outer periphery of the second blower chamber to communicate with each other.

A diaphragm pump includes an actuator, a diaphragm, and first and second pump chambers and deforms to change a volume of the first pump chamber and a volume of the second pump chamber so that fluid flows. The diaphragm is bonded to a first surface and a second surface of the actuator. When the diaphragm is displaced convexly in a direction to the first pump chamber, the second pump chamber is configured to expand and the first pump chamber is configured to contract so that fluid flows into the second pump chamber and fluid flows out of the first pump chamber. When the diaphragm is displaced convexly in a direction to the second pump chamber, the first pump chamber is configured to expand and the second pump chamber is configured to contract so that fluid flows into the first pump chamber and fluid flows out of the second pump chamber.

An automated computer-controlled sampling system and related methods for collecting, processing, and analyzing agricultural samples for various chemical properties such as plant available nutrients. The sampling system allows multiple samples to be processed and analyzed for different analytes or chemical properties in a simultaneous concurrent or semi-concurrent manner. Advantageously, the system can process soil samples in the as collected condition without drying or grinding. The system generally includes a sample preparation sub-system which receives soil samples collected by a probe collection sub-system and produces a slurry (i.e. mixture of soil, vegetation, and/or manure and water), and a chemical analysis sub-system which processes the prepared slurry samples for quantifying multiple analytes and/or chemical properties of the sample. The sample preparation and chemical analysis sub-systems can be used to analyze soil, vegetation, and/or manure samples. A soil collection system is disclosed which captures and directs samples to the sampling system for processing.
