A heel unit for a touring binding includes a base for mounting on a sliding board and coupling means to engage a heel portion of a sliding board boot in a downhill position of the touring binding to retain the sliding board boot on the touring binding. A release mechanism holds the coupling means so as to be moveable relative to the base and releasable from the sliding board boot, in the downhill position, in an event of action of a force exceeding a predetermined release force. An adjustment mechanism adjusts the touring binding between the downhill position and a walking position in which the coupling means are remote from and do not engage the sliding board boot. The adjustment mechanism comprises an actuation assembly manually actuatable to lock or unlock the adjustment mechanism substantially without an actuation force or with an actuation force less than the predetermined release force.

Ski binding with heelless telemark coupling

Presented is one embodiment of a telemark-capable ski binding system which combines the conventional tech style toe piece or front coupling with a telemark tension assembly (110) that provides the necessary rotational resistance to a ski boot (300) but still allows the ski boot heel to be raised for a telemark style turn upon descent. Telemark tension assembly (110) can be adjusted to alter the engagement of telemark tension assembly (110) according to user preference and conditions for descent. Telemark tension assembly (110) can also be loosened to the point that adjustable restraint (112) can be rotated forward and rest unengaged in front of ski boot (300) for free rotation in toe coupling (100) during ascent or touring. This embodiment provides a lightweight telemark ski binding system that has improved resistance to undesirable snow gathering. Other embodiments are described that have adjustability features and alpine descent mode.

MOVING MECHANISM FOR A SKI BINDING

The present invention relates to an attachment mechanism for a locking means to be fastened to a mounting plate on a cross-country ski, where the cross-country ski comprises a mounting plate (6) arranged on a top surface of the ski, where the mounting plate (6) comprises longitudinal side edges having an undercut profile (33) for longitudinal placement and attachment of a binding or binding component (2; 4) by means of a complementary profile (34) on the binding or binding component (2; 4), where the mounting plate (6) comprises a longitudinal channel (21) that accommodates a longitudinal slide member (5), where the top side of the slide member (5) comprises at least one locking means (20; 23), where the underside of the binding or binding component (2; 4) comprises at least one complementary locking means. The invention provides, inter alia, an attachment mechanism on a locking means that comprises at least one plate (30) having a top side and an underside, where the underside of the at least one plate (30) is provided with at least two downward projecting legs (40), where the at least two downward projecting legs (40) are spaced apart at a distance substantially corresponding to the width of the channel (21), where the mounting plate (6) on each side of the channel (21) comprises openings (47) adapted to receive the at least two downward projecting legs (40), where mounting plate (6) and the at least two downward projecting legs (40) comprise longitudinal holes (46), and where the holes are adapted to receive one or more bayonets (44).
