Method and system for driving piezoelectric MEMS-based active cooling devices
A cooling system and method for using the cooling system are described. The cooling system includes an array of cooling elements and a controller. The array of cooling elements corresponds to regions of the heat-generating structure where heat is generated in response to operation of the semiconductor. The controller is configured to activate portions of the array of cooling elements based on a determination that operation of the heat-generating structure is likely to generate heat in a given region of the heat-generating structure.
PHYSIOLOGICAL MONITORING DEVICE ATTACHMENT ASSEMBLY
An assembly for enabling a caregiver to secure a physiological monitoring device to an arm of a user can include the physiological monitoring device a cradle configured to removably secure to the physiological monitoring device and to the user’s arm. The physiological monitoring device can include a first connector port configured to electrically connect to a first cable and a first locking tab movable between an extended position and a retracted position. The cradle can include a base, first and second sidewalls, a back wall connected to the base and the first and second sidewalls. The cradle can further include a first opening in the back wall configured to receive the first connector port and a second opening in the first sidewall configured to receive the first locking tab when the physiological monitoring device is secured to the cradle and the first locking tab is in the extended position.
BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR ATTACHMENT ASSEMBLY
A blood pressure monitor configured to removably mount to a cuff in a substantially symmetrical position with respect to a width of the cuff can include a housing defining an interior, a first port, and a second port. The first port can: secure to a first prong of the cuff when the cuff is mounted in a first orientation; receive and secure to a second prong of the cuff when the cuff is mounted in a second orientation; and enable fluid communication between the interior and at least one of a first fluid passage within the first prong and a second fluid passage within the second prong. The second port can: secure to the second prong of the cuff when the cuff is mounted in the first orientation; and receive and secure to the first prong of the cuff when the cuff is mounted in the second orientation.
Miniature fluid transportation device
A miniature fluid transportation device is provided and includes a convergence component, a valve component, an outlet plate and a plurality of fluid transportation actuation components. The plurality of fluid transportation actuation components are disposed on the convergence component so as to transport the fluid to the convergence component. The convergence component guides the fluid transported by the fluid transportation actuation components to the outlet plate through the valve component. The outlet plate guides the fluid from different transportation actuation components back to the convergence component by a separation guiding block. The fluid is converged in a convergence central slot of the convergence component and is discharged out through a collection channel of the outlet plate. Consequently, the problem of interference owing to the convergence of the fluid transported by different fluid transportation actuation components can be avoided.
HIGH-THROUGHPUT DIAPHRAGM COMPRESSOR
Devices and methods for operating a diaphragm compressor system provide high output pressure and high throughput. In some embodiments, modular diaphragm compressors are stacked with a clamping mechanism pressing the compressor modules together. In embodiments, multiple stacks are provided as stages of a pressurization process. In embodiments, a main stage valve controls one or more pressure circuits for one or more hydraulic actuators of compressor modules. In embodiments, orifices configured for damping are incorporated to control actuator piston movement within a compressor module.
Piezoelectric pump having a heat-dissipating arrangement
A pump unit (100) includes a plurality of piezoelectric pumps (1), a flow path-defining member (50), and a heat-dissipating part (60). The plurality of piezoelectric pumps (1) each include a first flow path for sucking and discharging of fluid. The flow path-defining member (50) includes a second flow path for connection to the first flow paths in the plurality of piezoelectric pumps (1). Heat generated in the plurality of piezoelectric pumps (1) is dissipated through the heat-dissipating part (60). The heat-dissipating part (60) is disposed between the flow path-defining member (50) and each of the plurality of piezoelectric pumps (1). The heat-dissipating part (60) has through-holes through which the first flow paths are connected to the second flow path.
Mobile phone and other compute device cooling architecture
A system for cooling a mobile phone and method for using the system are described. The system includes an active piezoelectric cooling system, a controller and an interface. The active piezoelectric cooling system is configured to be disposed in a rear portion of the mobile phone distal from a front screen of the mobile phone. The controller is configured to activate the active piezoelectric cooling system in response to heat generated by heat-generating structures of the mobile phone. The interface is configured to receive power from a mobile phone power source when the active piezoelectric cooling system is activated.
