A beam pumping unit includes a base, a Sampson post supported by the base, a walking beam pivotably supported by the Sampson post and a horsehead on the front end of the walking beam. The horsehead is connected to a polished rod that extends through a wellhead to a subsurface pump. The beam pumping unit includes a linear drive unit connected between the base and the Sampson post to force the walking beam to rock up and down on the Sampson post. The linear drive unit includes a linear drive system and an integrated pneumatic counterbalance system.

Intelligent force reducing double-acting counterweight

A movable counterweight that can reduce lifting and lowering torque. In one embodiment, a beam pumping unit can have a movable beam counterweight attached to a positioning drive on the beam and can be intelligently positioned to achieve lowest net torque required by one or more of a prime mover and lowest net gear torque in in the speed reducer. Optionally, positioning can be calculated by one or more of monitoring current requirements of the motor and monitoring the beam load with a load cell, which can then be merged with crank position readings and processed into signals sent to the positioning drive, which causes the counterweight to move to the best position along the on the length of the beam to achieve one or more of near to lowest current draw by the prime mover and lowest net gear torque in in the speed reducer.

Non-beam pumping unit driven by a biaxial motor

The non-beam pumping unit driven by a biaxial comprises a base, a tower body and a drive mechanism. The drive mechanism is mounted on the platform, comprising a biaxial motor, a large roller, a small roller, a belt and a counterweight device. The two ends of the biaxial motor are respectively connected with the two ends of the large roller through the chain and the sprocket respectively. The utility uses the biaxial motor instead of the uniaxial motor which in the prior art, the motor and the large roller on both sides are in balance, and solves the problem of partial grinding effectively and prolongs the service life of the bearing.

Articulated reciprocating counterweight
10107282 · 2018-10-23 ·

A moving counterweight that reduces lifting and lowering torque of an unbalanced load. In one embodiment, a beam pump, an articulated reciprocating counterweight extending above the effort of a class 1 lever on extended pitman arms above the lever effort at the tail bearing to structurally and continuously changes it's position in an air-arc to reduce lifting and lowering torque, by rigid-mechanical geometric re-positioning of the counterbalance effect to and fro, when the rotation is crank arms falling toward the well load, thus mechanically, continuously, favorably, and without friction re-positioning the counterweight either away from the load and fulcrum thereby increasing the counterbalance effect, or nearer to the load and fulcrum thereby decreasing the counterbalance effect, as is desirable to compensate the unbalanced downhole load, where the load in the lift direction exceeds the load in the return direction. The longer the extension of the pitman arm above the beam with the counterweight attached the greater is the counterweight effect of the counterweight deadweight.

PUMPING MACHINE

Pumping machine (650, 750) comprising: at least two tubular elements (651, 751) containing pressurized gas and extending vertically in parallel and interconnected between them by means of a connecting element (652, 752); and an electromechanical lifting system (600, 700) comprising a first cylinder (601, 701), interconnected to the tubular elements (651, 751) and comprising a substance compressible by a piston (601b, 701b); and a screw (602, 702) with a vertical axis Y coinciding with the axis of the pumping machine (650, 750). The screw (602, 702) is inserted inside a second thrust cylinder (658, 758), connected in sliding manner inside the first cylinder (601, 701), and has a first end (602b, 702b) fixed to the connecting element (652, 752) and a second end (602a, 702a) configured for sliding inside the thrust cylinder (658, 758) and overlying a chamber (605, 705) comprising lubrication and cooling oil overlying the piston (601b, 701b).

Pump jack system and method
10047739 · 2018-08-14 · ·

A pump jack system for vertically reciprocating a downhole pump in an oil and gas well. The pump jack system includes a cylinder assembly having a drive cylinder and two balance cylinders. A piston in the drive cylinder may be used to provide an upstroke of a sucker rod string of a downhole pump. The pistons in the balance cylinders may be used to provide a downstroke of the sucker rod string. Lower chambers in the balance cylinders counterbalance the lifting and lowering of the piston in the drive cylinder. The pump jack system also includes an accumulator for maintaining a relative constant fluid pressure in the lower chambers of the balance cylinders.
