Critical valve performance monitoring system

A monitoring system can include a position sensor coupled to a pump to sense a position of a rotating assembly member of the pump and generate an associated position signal. The position signal can be used to determine a position of a displacement member in a chamber in a fluid end of the pump. The monitoring system can include a strain gauge to measure strain in the chamber and generate an associated strain signal. The strain signal can be used to determine an actuation point for a valve in the chamber. A computing device can determine an actuation delay of the valve by correlating the position of the displacement member in the chamber with the actuation point for the valve. The actuation delay can represent the actuation point relative to the position of the displacement member during operation of the pump.

Active hydraulic ripple cancellation methods and systems

Presented herein are systems and methods for attenuating flow ripple generated by a hydraulic pump. In certain aspects, a method and system for operating a hydraulic positive displacement pump according to a stabilized command profile are disclosed, such that flow ripple generated by operation of the pump according to the stabilized command profile is attenuated as compared to operation of the pump according to a corresponding nominal command profile. In other aspects, a pressure-balanced active buffer is disclosed that allow for at least partially cancelling flow ripple in a hydraulic circuit comprising a pump. In another aspect, a method for generating ripple maps for a pump is disclosed. Such ripple maps may be used, for example, to determine the stabilized command profile used to operate the pump, or may be used by the pressure-balanced active buffer to counteract ripple in the hydraulic circuit.

Pressure pump valve monitoring system

A monitoring system may include a position sensor, a strain gauge, and a computing device for determining the condition of a valve in a chamber of a pump using strain measurements. The strain gauge may determine strain in the chamber. The position sensor may determine the position of a crankshaft coupled to a plunger in the chamber. The computing device may receive signals generated by the strain gauge and the position sensor related to the strain in the chamber and the position of the crankshaft, respectively, and may process the signals to determine delays in the actuation of the valves.

Accurate flow-in measurement by triplex pump and continuous verification

A method includes determining a rotational position of a crankshaft in a multiplex pump from one or more sensors disposed on the crankshaft, determining a position of each of a plurality of pistons along a corresponding pump bore in relation to a total stroke length of each piston and a connecting rod length, calculating an individual theoretical displaced volume of fluid for each of the pump bores in the multiplex pump based on the rotational position of the crankshaft, and summing the individual theoretical displaced volumes to determine a total theoretical pumped volume by the multiplex pump. A calibration method includes determination of the multiplex pump efficiency versus speed and discharge pressure, and the effect of pump leakage and valve closing delay on the pump efficiency. Verification of the pump performance and efficiency may be controlled during pumping to insure the validity of the last calibration data set.

Automatic calibration device and ion migration spectrometer

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an automatic calibration device for an ion migration spectrometer and an ion migration spectrometer. The automatic calibration device includes: a reservoir configured to store liquid calibration sample therein; and an automatic transfer portion communicated with the reservoir and configured to transfer the liquid calibration sample in the reservoir.

Cepstrum analysis of oilfield pumping equipment health

The present disclosure introduces apparatuses and methods for assessing health of oilfield pumping equipment. An example pump assembly health monitoring system receives angular position data, including angular positions associated with operation of the pump assembly, and parameter data, including values of a parameter associated with the pump assembly that fluctuates with the angular positions. The monitoring system determines a cepstrum of the parameter data with respect to the angular position data, and determines a ratio of a first amplitude of the cepstrum at a quefrency of about zero to a second amplitude of the cepstrum at a non-zero quefrency. The determined ratio is indicative of a health of a component of the pump assembly.

APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR TREATING EXCESS INTRAOCULAR FLUID

An ocular drainage system is provided for treating diseases that produce elevated intraocular pressures, such as glaucoma, wherein the system includes an implantable device and an external control unit, the implantable device includes a non-invasively adjustable valve featuring at least one deformable tube and a disk rotatably mounted within a housing, such that rotation of the disk using the external control unit causes the disk to apply a selected amount of compression to the deformable tube, thereby adjusting the fluidic resistance of the deformable tube and regulating the intraocular pressure.

VALVE TIMING IN ELECTRONICALLY COMMUTATED HYDRAULIC MACHINE
20200208521 · 2020-07-02 ·

An electronically commutated hydraulic machine is coupled to a drivetrain. Working chambers of the hydraulic machine are connected to low and high pressure manifold through electronically controlled valves. The phase of opening and closing of the valves has a default. In order to avoid cycle failure due to acceleration events, for example due to backlash in the drivetrain, the phase of opening or closing of the electronically controlled valves is temporarily advanced or retarded from the default timing.
