Compressor stop valve and associated system

A compressor system is provided that includes a contact cooled compressor and a coolant separator. The coolant separator is used to remove coolant fluid from a compressed flow stream produced by the contact cooled compressor during its operation. The coolant separator routes the removed coolant fluid back to the contact cooled compressor for further use. In some forms the coolant fluid is cooled prior to delivery back to the compressor. A stop valve can be provided in the coolant fluid return line to halt the flow of the fluid. A pressure sensitive member can be disposed to sense pressure of the coolant fluid that has been routed past the stop valve. Operation of the compressor can be changed as a result of the sensed pressure from the pressure sensitive member. Information from a temperature sensitive member can also be used to change operation of the compressor.

ECONOMIZER CONTROL SYSTEMS AND METHODS

An economizer control system includes a compressor including a compression area, a piston chamber, and an economizer inlet configured to receive economizer vapor into the compression area via a flow path that extends between the economizer inlet and the compression area. At least a portion of the flow path traverses the piston chamber. The economizer control system also includes a piston disposed within the piston chamber and configured to contact the economizer vapor. The piston is moveable between an open position that opens the flow path and a closed position that closes the flow path. Additionally, the economizer control system includes a biasing system configured to apply force to the piston to bias the piston toward the closed position.

Compression device

A compression device includes: a compressor including a casing, a rotor that is housed in a rotor chamber inside the casing and compresses gas by rotating, a bearing that is provided inside the casing and supports a rotor shaft so that the rotor is rotatable, and a first shaft-sealing part and a second shaft-sealing part that are provided to line up between the rotor chamber and the bearing in the casing to seal a periphery of the rotor shaft; a first supply line adapted to supply injection oil to the rotor chamber; a second supply line that is provided independent of the first supply line to supply lubrication oil to the bearing; a third supply line adapted to supply sealing gas to the first shaft-sealing part; and a fourth supply line adapted to supply the second shaft-sealing part with sealing oil to be used for sealing.

SCROLL COMPRESSOR WITH ECONOMIZER INJECTION

A scroll compressor includes a compressor housing, an orbiting scroll member, a non-orbiting scroll member, an economizer injection inlet, and a discharge outlet. The orbiting scroll member and the non-orbiting scroll member are disposed within the compressor housing. The orbiting scroll member and the non-orbiting scroll member are intermeshed thereby forming a compression chamber within the compressor housing. The non-orbiting scroll includes a plurality of compression inlet ports. An economizer injection inlet is formed through the compressor housing and in fluid communication with the compression chamber via the compression inlet ports. The discharge outlet is in fluid communication with the compression chamber.

Lubricant injection for a screw compressor

A screw compressor, refrigerant circuit, lubrication method are disclosed. The screw compressor includes a suction inlet that receives a working fluid to be compressed. A compression mechanism is fluidly connected to the suction inlet. A discharge outlet is fluidly connected to the compression mechanism that outputs the working fluid following compression by the compression mechanism. The screw compressor includes a slide valve that is movable between a first position and a second position. The first position corresponds to a high volume ratio and the second position corresponds to a low volume ratio. The slide valve includes a plurality of lubricant passageways selectively connectable to a lubricant source. A first of the plurality of lubricant passageways is configured to be selected to provide lubricant at the high volume ratio, and a second of the plurality of lubricant passageways is configured to be selected to provide lubricant at the low volume ratio.

A liquid-injected screw compressor includes: a casing that houses a screw rotor and a bearing, and has a suction port and a suction chamber connected to the suction port; a suction throttle valve that is installed at the suction port, and has a housing; and an intake-gas bypass system that establishes communication between a primary side and a secondary side of the suction throttle valve. The intake-gas bypass system includes: an intake-gas bypass flow path that is provided in a wall section of the housing, and has a primary-side opening section opening into the primary side of the suction throttle valve, and a secondary-side opening section opening into the secondary side of the suction throttle valve; and a first check valve arranged in the intake-gas bypass flow path. The intake-gas bypass flow path has an external opening section that opens to an outside of the housing and that allows insertion and withdrawal of the first check valve. Thereby, it is possible to make the system that communicates with the suction chamber in the casing and is provided with the reverse-flow inhibition mechanism a pipeless structure without impairing advantages of external pipes.

A refrigeration apparatus (1) includes a main refrigerant circuit (2) including a positive displacement compressor (4), a condenser (6), an expansion valve (8), and an evaporator (10), through which a refrigerant circulates successively in a closed loop circulation, a lubrication refrigerant line (18) connected to the main refrigerant circuit (2) between the condenser (6) and the expansion valve (8) or to the condenser (6), in which circulates a portion of the refrigerant of the main refrigerant circuit (2) and connected to the compressor (4) for lubrication of said compressor (4) with the refrigerant, at least one lubrication refrigerant storing cavity (70) connected to the lubrication refrigerant line (18), the lubrication refrigerant storing cavity (70) being configured to store liquid refrigerant for lubrication of the compressor (4) said at least one lubrication refrigerant storing cavity (70) being provided within the compressor (4).

Compressor system with purge gas system

A compressor system includes a compressor having a rotor; a bearing supporting the rotor, wherein the bearing is disposed in a bearing cavity; and wherein the bearing has a near frictionless coating; and a purge gas system in fluid communication with the bearing cavity and constructed to purge air from the bearing cavity and supply the bearing cavity with the purge gas during operation of the compressor. The purge gas can be nitrogen and the near frictionless coating can be a near-frictionless diamond-like carbon coating.

Method and device for controlling the oil temperature of an oil-injected compressor installation or vacuum pump using a flow distributor

A device for controlling the oil temperature of an oil-injected compressor installation with a compressor element that is provided with a gas inlet and an outlet for compressed gas that is connected to an oil separator that is connected by an injection pipe to the compressor element. A cooler is affixed in a part of the injection pipe that can be bypassed by means of a bypass pipe. The device is also provided with an extra pipe that is intended to be connected in parallel with the bypass pipe and the cooler, and in which an energy recovery system can be connected. Additionally, the device is provided with a flow distributor through the cooler, the bypass pipe and the extra pipe, and a controller for controlling these temperature control devices at the outlet of the compressor element.

AIREND HAVING A LUBRICANT FLOW VALVE AND CONTROLLER

A compressor system can include a lubricant injection system useful to supply lubricant to an airend. The compressor system can include a variable lubricant flow valve which can be regulated by a controller on the basis of operating conditions of the compressor system. In one form the compressor system also includes an oil separator and/or an oil cooler with or without a thermal control valve. The controller can have one or more modes of operation, including a mode in which the controller regulates the flow of lubricant to the airend to increase an internal flow area of the valve when the airend is operated at an unloaded or loaded condition. In some forms the controller can regulate the lubricant flow valve and/or the thermal control valve and/or the lubricant cooler.
