A self-balancing vehicle includes a vehicle body having a housing with left and right sides which are independently moveable. A unitary support bar is disposed within the housing, and a left drive wheel and an opposed right drive wheel are each coupled to the support bar. A bracket encircles the support bar; the bracket has a cylindrical body formed with a slot through the body. A set screw is fixed to the support bar and is received within the slot to limit rotational movement of the support bar with respect to the bracket.

The case also includes an outer layer, formed of self-reinforcing polypropylene (srPP), arranged to cover an outer surface of at least part of the inner portion. In further embodiments, the cover is formed of two or more sections that may be arranged to at least partially overlap, wherein adjusting the overlap of the at least two sections changes the dimensions of an inner cavity within the cover or case. The case may be telescoping, in order to provide adjustable dimensions for a cavity within the case.

A stowable motorized skateboard comprising a first board section, a second board section, a power supply section, and support bars. The first board section includes a locking mechanism and first support anchors. The second board section includes a controller, a motor, second support anchors, and power supply anchors. The power supply section is between the first and second board sections, encasing a battery electrically coupled to the controller and the motor, and including a catch receiving the locking mechanism. The power supply section further receives the power supply anchors. The support bars extend from the first board section to the second board section and receive the first support anchors and the second support anchors.

An electric skateboard includes a frame assembly has a deck with an opening of the deck to house a battery case mounted to a bottom of the deck. The frame has a top plate that covers the opening and forms with the battery case an enclosure. A battery pack is positioned at least partially in the enclosure. Front and a rear truck are mounted to the bottom of the deck. At least one of the first and front and rear trunks are coupled to first and second wheels mounted on axles of the front and rear trucks. The front truck is mounted on the front end and a rear truck mounted on a rear end of the deck. Upper and lower control arms share a single shaft.

An edge protector for a sports board in the form of a bead of a resilient material having a cross-section comprising a central portion and, extending therefrom in one direction, a tapering impact-absorbing section and, extending from the central portion in the opposing direction, a pair of convergent leg sections for engaging an edge of the board. The central portion and the impact-absorbing section together form a triangular cross-section, which is particularly suited to receiving and dissipating an impact. The triangular section can be a hollow triangular section to reduce weight and tailor the impact response. One leg of the pair extends beyond the other leg to ease fitting.
