A skate with a stowable and/or removable roller, blade, ski, or track assembly. A skate has: a shoe; a guiding part mounted to the shoe; a roller, blade, ski, or track assembly mounted to move along the guiding part between a deployed position and a stowed position adjacent a calf or ankle part of the shoe; and a handle connected to move the roller, blade, ski, or track assembly between the deployed position and the stowed position. Related methods include moving the roller, blade, ski, or track assembly between the positions, and locking or unlocking the assembly in either position, for example using a handle.

Skate or other footwear

A skate (e.g., an ice skate) for a skater (e.g., a hockey player). The skate comprises a skate boot for receiving a foot of the skater and a skating device (e.g., a blade and a blade holder) disposed beneath the skate boot to engage a skating surface (e.g., ice). At least part of the skate boot and optionally at least part of one or more other components (e.g., the skating device) may be constructed from one or more materials (e.g., foams) molded by flowing in molding equipment during a molding process (e.g., injection molding or casting). This may allow the skate (or other footwear) to have useful performance characteristics (e.g., reduced weight, proper fit and comfort, etc.) while being more cost-effectively manufactured. A box beam sidewall extends up from the wheel mounting portion. The box beam sidewall includes an outer wall section, an inner wall section, an upper wall section, and a lower wall section. The wall sections define a channel through the box beam sidewall. A forward base attachment member extends from an upper, forward portion of the box beam sidewall, and a rearward base attachment member extends from a rearward portion of the box beam wall. The forward and rearward based attachment members are configured for mounting a skate base to the frame.

A box beam sidewall extends up from the wheel mounting portion. The box beam sidewall includes an outer wall section, an inner wall section, an upper wall section, and a lower wall section. The wall sections define a channel through the box beam sidewall. A forward base attachment member extends from an upper, forward portion of the box beam sidewall, and a rearward base attachment member extends from a rearward portion of the box beam wall. A skate includes a skate boot and wheel assembly; an outer seat disposed on the skate boot and wheel assembly; an inner seat disposed in the outer seat; a tongue disposed on the inner seat; a cover disposed on the tongue; a first hole disposed in a toe portion of the outer seat; a second hole disposed in front of the first hole; a biasing member disposed in both the first and second holes; two projections having a through hole disposed on a front end of the cover; and a pivot disposed through the through holes and the biasing member to assemble the cover and the outer seat. Thus, the tongue is pivotal.

SINGLE-WALL INLINE SKATE FRAME AND SKATE

An inline skate frame and axle assembly includes a frame having single sidewall that mounts a plurality of outwardly-extending axle assemblies. The sidewall has a wheel-mounting portion, a forward attachment portion and a rearward attachment portion. A forward attachment member includes a leg that extends outwardly from the sidewall between wheels on the skate, and a first attachment plate that cooperatively with the first attachment portion is configured to attach a skate base. A similar rearward attachment member comprises a leg and a second attachment plate that cooperatively with the second attachment portion is configure to attach the skate base. In embodiments the axle assemblies are rotationally locked to the sidewall, and include a cap member rotationally locked to the axle to prevent wheel rotation from loosening and wheel retaining connector.

SINGLE-WALL INLINE SKATE FRAME AND SKATE

An inline skate frame and axle assembly includes a frame having single sidewall that mounts a plurality of outwardly-extending axle assemblies. The sidewall has a wheel-mounting portion, a forward attachment portion and a rearward attachment portion. A forward attachment member includes a leg that extends outwardly from the sidewall between wheels on the skate, and a first attachment plate that cooperatively with the first attachment portion is configured to attach a skate base. A similar rearward attachment member comprises a leg and a second attachment plate that cooperatively with the second attachment portion is configure to attach the skate base. In embodiments the axle assemblies are rotationally locked to the sidewall, and include a cap member rotationally locked to the axle to prevent wheel rotation from loosening and wheel retaining connector.
