Fluid pump with flow impedance member
A fluid pump includes an inlet for introducing fluid into the fluid pump and an outlet for discharging the fluid from the fluid pump. A motor is included having an armature which rotates about an axis The motor also has a stator which circumferentially surrounds the armature such that a fluid passage is defined radially between the armature and stator through which the fluid flows from the inlet to the outlet. A pumping arrangement is rotated by the armature and pumps the fluid from the inlet to the outlet A flow impedance member extends axially in the fluid passage which impedes circumferential flow of the fluid within the fluid passage, thereby generating a pressure gradient circumferentially within the fluid passage which applies a lateral force to the armature.
Pump
A pump has a main body. An assembling part is formed in the main body and has an assembling chamber. A mounting part is formed in the assembling chamber and has a discharging chamber. An influent hole and an effluent hole are respectively defined through an inner surface of the discharging chamber. A storage hole is defined through the assembling chamber and communicates with the effluent hole. A mounting cover is mounted on the mounting part. A motor is mounted on the main body. An impeller is located in the discharging chamber and connected with the motor. A covering assembly is mounted on the assembling part and has a storage chamber that communicates with the storage hole. When working fluid passes through the effluent hole, some of the working fluid enters the storage chamber via the storage hole, eliminating the need to additionally process the mounting cover.

Fuel Pump and Fuel Supply System Using the Same
A fuel pump includes a motor having an armature which rotates about an axis, the motor also having a stator which circumferentially surrounds the armature such that a fuel passage is defined between the armature and the stator, whereby rotation of the armature induces a circumferential flow of fuel within the fuel passage; a pumping arrangement which is rotated by the armature and which pumps fuel from a first inlet to a first; a second inlet which introduces fuel into the fuel passage; a second outlet which discharges fuel from the fuel passage; and a flow impedance member in the fuel passage which impedes the circumferential flow of fuel within the fuel passage, thereby generating a pressure gradient across opposing sides of the flow impedance member such that fuel entering the fuel passage is pumped to the second outlet.

Regenerative pump with variable regenerative flow
A regenerative pump includes a housing defining a cavity having a fluid inlet arrangement and fluid outlet arrangement, and a channel having an open volume extending between the fluid inlet arrangement and the fluid outlet arrangement. A rotatable shaft extends into the housing. An impeller is mounted to the shaft within the cavity and has a plurality of vanes spaced circumferentially around the axis and opening into the channel. An arm arrangement at least partially defines walls of the channel. The arm arrangement is radially movable to vary the volume of the channel. Enlarging the volume of the channel inhibits regenerative circulatory flow during pumping and limits the pressure generated.
