Submersible motor and method for mitigating water invasion to a submersible motor

A method for mitigating water invasion to a submersible motor includes: forming an accumulation zone within an inner space of the submersible motor, wherein the accumulation zone is disposed at a bottom of the inner space below a motor shaft; measuring a conductivity of a fluid inside the accumulation zone using a sensor, wherein the fluid comprises water and dielectric oil; comparing the conductivity of the fluid with a threshold value; upon detecting that the conductivity of the fluid is greater than the threshold value, activating a solenoid pump to discharge the fluid from the accumulation zone to an outside of the submersible motor.

A self-regulating fire pump unit which can be controlled to operate under required conditions for sourcing a fire protection system such as sprinklers. The fire pump unit can be operated in accordance with a control curve based on detected pressure and flow. The control curve can include: a) a first setpoint of rated total value of the system load for the pressure and the flow, b) a second setpoint of a minimum partial percentage of the rated total value of the pressure at an over-percentage of the rated total value of the flow, c) a path which maintains the rated total value of the pressure for all values of the flow up to the first setpoint, d) a path between the first setpoint and the second setpoint, e) a path from the second setpoint which limits values of the pressure for values of the flow greater than the second setpoint.

Motor drive system and method

A motor drive and method to control a motor in a fluid system. The method may comprise determining a pressure; determining a proportional error as a limited difference between the pressure and a pressure setpoint; determining an integral step as a limited proportional error; determining an integral error as a limited sum of the integral step and a preceding unbound integral error; determining an error as the product of the integral error, the proportional error, and a gain factor; and generating a control signal to cause the inverter to output a motor voltage to drive the motor and maintain the pressure about the pressure setpoint.

Method and system for monitoring a pump

In a method for monitoring a pump arranged in a flow path to pump a fluid, the temperature of a fluid is regulated by a tempering element during the operation of the pump. The regulation of the temperature may include detecting at least one status point which is formed from an energy supplied to the tempering element and a temperature slope of the tempering element. The status point may be determined in a hazard range by checking whether the status point is located outside of a normal status range, which means that the lifespan of the pump is limited.

Gas lock removal method for electrical submersible pumps

Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method, a computer program product, and a system for removing gas locking in a pump. The method includes setting the pump into a gas interference condition based on a variable speed drive driving a pump at a first frequency and a choke valve set at a first restriction value and adjusting the variable speed drive to a second frequency and the choke valve to a second restriction value such that the adjustment produces a backpressure that lets free gas get dissolved in a fluid phase and keeps fluids drawn by the pump at a single-phase flow based on pressure-volume-temperature characteristics of the fluids.

Controller Apparatus and Method for a Compressed Air System

A compressed air supply apparatus for heavy vehicles includes a service reservoir, an air dryer in communication with the service reservoir, a purge reservoir in communication with the air dryer, a compressor for delivering compressed air through the air dryer preferentially to the purge reservoir and then to the service reservoir and a controller. The controller interrupts the charge cycle of the compressor in response to a moisture accumulation value being equal to or exceeding a wetness threshold value and the pressure in the service reservoir being within a predetermined pressure range. The controller then initiates a modified purge cycle of the air dryer, which includes iteratively regenerating the air dryer with air from the purge reservoir until at least one of the moisture accumulation value is less than the wetness threshold value and the pressure in the service reservoir is outside the predetermined pressure range.
