System and method involving a variable speed cooling fan used with a compressor and an internal combustion engine
A system and method of a variable speed cooling fan for a skid mounted compressor. A magnetic variable speed clutch is mounted to the cooling fan drive shaft. The clutch mechanism is driven via by a drive pulley on the crankshaft of the engine driving the compressor. The speed of the fan is varied dependent upon the temperature of the fluids being cooled.
System and method for a variable speed cooling fan on a skid mounted compressor
A system and method of a variable speed cooling fan (30) for a skid mounted compressor (22). A magnetic variable speed clutch (38) is mounted to the cooling fan drive shaft (28). The clutch mechanism is driven via by a drive pulley (38) on the crankshaft of the engine (24) driving the compressor (22). The speed of the fan (30) is varied dependent upon the temperature of the fluids being cooled.
BLOCKING DEVICE OF A FAN
A blocking device (1) for a fan that blocks a direction of rotation of a rotor (70), via which a wheel of the fan can be driven. The blocking device has a bearing tube (10), a rotor shaft (60) and a freewheel sleeve (50). The freewheel sleeve (50) is accommodated in the bearing tube (10) and is connected to the rotor shaft (60), which extends through the freewheel sleeve (50), for conjoint rotation. The freewheel sleeve (50) blocks rotation of the rotor shaft (60) at least in relation to the bearing tube (10) in the direction of rotation of the rotor.
Box fan apparatus with multi-adaptive suspension
A fan apparatus comprises a frame, a central shaft mounted to the frame, and three or more suspension elements formed from a flexible material. Each respective suspension element has a first end, a second end and an adjustment mechanism operable to change a length of the suspension element. The first ends are attached to the frame and the second ends are attached to a ceiling structure to suspend the apparatus. The frame height can be adjusted by changing the lengths of all of the suspension elements by a same amount and the orientation can be adjusted by changing the lengths of the suspension element by different amounts. A blade assembly with central hub and plurality of fan blades is mounted on the shaft, a housing surrounding the blade assembly is mounted on the frame, and an electric motor is operably connected to the central hub rotate the blade assembly.
Automatic control systems for frost fans
A retrofittable control system for controlling an engine and a clutch of a frost fan may include a data processing system, a thermostat, a human machine interface, a throttle control module, and/or a clutch control module. The control system may be configured to automatically start the fan when the thermostat detects a temperature below a user defined turn-on temperature, and to automatically shut down and park the fan when the thermostat detects a temperature above a user defined turn-off temperature. In some examples, starting up the fan may include running a clutch engagement sequence that engages the clutch at different speeds for different durations.

Fan-coupling device with unitary magnetic pole construction
A fan-coupling device with a unitary magnetic pole is disclosed. The magnetic pole is of a unitary, ring-shaped construction and includes a choke space and a ridge that promote an increased amount of magnetic flux generated by an electromagnet to travel to a magnetic armature on a fluid flow valve, resulting an increase in the amount of magnetic force that acts upon the valve. This is an improvement over the prior art two-piece magnetic pole structure and over a unitary magnetic pole without the choke space and ridge. The magnetic pole also includes apertures in which protrusions on a sound dampening gasket are inserted to reduce the noise resulting from the armature striking the magnetic pole.
Clutch mechanism and method for controlling fan speed
A clutch mechanism includes a control member. The control member is adapted to receive motive power and includes a first dry clutch member and a first viscous clutch member. The clutch mechanism further includes an output member that includes a second dry clutch member and a second viscous clutch member. The first and second dry clutch members form a dry clutch and the first and second viscous clutch members form a viscous clutch. The clutch mechanism further includes an actuation arm coupled to at least one of the control and output members. The actuation arm is selectively controllable to effect relative movement of the control and output members such that one of the dry and viscous clutches is selectively engaged.
