BANDED COOLING FAN BAND HAVING KNIT-LINE STRENGTH IMPROVEMENT
A fan includes a hub configured to be driven by motor to rotate about a fan rotational axis, blades that protrude radially from the hub and a band that surrounds the rotational axis and connects the tips of the blades. The band includes features that structurally reinforce the knit lines. In some embodiments, the features are thickened regions that protrude from outer surface of the band in a direction away from the hub. A thickened region is disposed between respective tips of each pair of adjacent blades. In some embodiments, the features are structurally—reinforcing ribs that protrude from the hub-facing surface of the band. A rib is disposed between respective tips of each pair of adjacent blades. In some embodiments, the features are both ribs and thickened regions.
PROPELLER FAN
A propeller fan includes a hub rotatable about an axis, and a plurality of blades extending radially outward from an outer peripheral surface of the hub. A ring surrounds the plurality of blades and is connected to each blade tip. A maximum camber location is on a camber line where a distance from a chord line to the camber line in an arc-shaped cross section of each blade about the axis is maximum. An axial height is from a trailing edge to the camber line in a direction along the axis. Each blade has a first portion provided inside in the radial direction of rotation and whose axial height at the maximum camber location is substantially constant, and a second portion provided outside in the radial direction of rotation and whose axial height at the maximum camber location increases toward the blade tip.
Temperature destratification systems
A temperature destratification assembly can include an outer housing. An impeller can be positioned within the outer housing between the inlet and outlet of the outer housing. The impeller can have an impeller hub and a plurality of impeller blades extending radially outward from the impeller hub. The assembly can include an impeller motor configured to rotate the impeller blades about an axis of rotation. A stator can be positioned within the outer housing between the impeller and the outlet of the outer housing. The stator can include a plurality of vanes. The stator vanes can include an upstream edge at the upstream end of the stator, a first surface extending from the upstream edge to the downstream edge of the vane, and a second surface opposite the first surface and extending from the upstream edge to the downstream edge of vane. A plurality of the vanes can have a downstream edge at the outlet of the outer housing.
CEILING FAN HAVING A DUAL REDUNDANT MOTOR MOUNTING ASSEMBLY
A ceiling fan having a dual redundant motor mounting assembly for suspending a motor comprising a downrod, a hollow motor shaft suspending the motor from the downrod, a retaining pin extending through the hollow motor shaft, and a retaining rod coupled to the retainer pin for redundantly suspending the motor.
PRESSURIZED AIRFLOW TO ROTATE COMPRESSOR DURING ENGINE SHUTDOWN
A gas turbine engine includes a compressor section with a compressor rotor shaft assembly including a plurality of compressor rotors longitudinally spaced apart from each other via respective ones of a plurality of shaft sections of a rotor shaft, each compressor rotor of the plurality of compressor rotors having a plurality of rotor vanes extending radially outward therefrom and being circumferentially spaced about the compressor rotor. A stator shroud assembly has a stator shroud casing surrounding the compressor rotor shaft assembly, a compressor flow passage being defined between the compressor rotor shaft assembly and the stator shroud casing. A pressurized air source generates a flow of pressurized air to be provided to the compressor section, and a plurality of pressurized airflow nozzles are connected with the pressurized air source and provide the flow of pressurized air into the compressor flow passage to cause the compressor rotor shaft assembly to rotate.
Flexible support structure for a geared architecture gas turbine engine
A gas turbine engine according to an example of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a fan shaft configured to drive a fan, a support configured to support at least a portion of the fan shaft, the support defining a support transverse stiffness and a support lateral stiffness, a gear system coupled to the fan shaft, and a flexible support configured to at least partially support the gear system. The flexible support defines a flexible support transverse stiffness with respect to the support transverse stiffness and a flexible support lateral stiffness with respect to the support lateral stiffness. The input defines an input transverse stiffness with respect to the support transverse stiffness and an input lateral stiffness with respect to the support lateral stiffness.
CEILING FAN
An ceiling fan comprising a motor system. The motor system is mounted around a motor shaft. The motor shaft couples to a downrod for suspending the ceiling fan from a structure. The motor shaft and motor are encased by a motor housing. The motor housing comprises hub arms for mounting a plurality of blade holders. The blade holders coupled to a plurality of blades rotatable about the motor during operation. The downrod comprises a wire disk mounting guy wiring to the downrod. A retention rod is utilized internal of the motor and downrod as a secondary retention method. An electrical connector is internal of the motor shaft and electrically couples to the stator to power the motor.
