Sports field marking assembly and method of marking a surface
11879724 · 2024-01-23 ·

A sports field marking assembly and method of marking creates a boundary reference point and field lines on a field or for coaching. The assembly provides a marker anchoring device that is loaded with field markers. The marker anchoring device comprises a translatable handle coupled to a spring-loaded piston that discharge the field markers into the surface of the sports field. Bristles couple to a rear end of the marker body for visibility above the surface of the field. A tape canister couples to the marker anchoring device to dispense a measuring tape. The measuring tape couples to the field markers, serving to delineate the boundaries and lines on the field. Multiple aligners anchor into the sports field to retain the measuring tape in the formed patterns. The aligners have collapsible and moveable guide posts that can be selectively raised to guide the measuring tape though the chosen guide posts.

Mounting clamp for line striper sprayer
10584452 · 2020-03-10 · ·

A line stripe includes a frame, a mounting arm extending from the frame, a G-shaped clamp, a vertical bar, an extension bar, and a spray gun. The G-shaped clamp has an opening through which the mounting arm is able to extend and a fastener configured to secure the mounting arm within the opening. The opening allows the first clamp to be mounted and then secured on the mounting arm without relative sliding between the first clamp and the mounting arm. The vertical bar is attached to and extends from the clamp. The extension bar is attached to and extends from the vertical bar, and the spray gun is attachable to the extension bar. The clamp is configured to be installable upon and removable from the mounting bar without having to remove similar G-shaped clamps from the mounting bar.

SURFACE COVERING PANEL, SURFACE COVERING PANEL ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF INSTALLING THE SAME
20200070038 · 2020-03-05 ·

The present document relates to surface covering panel assembly for installation over a receiving surface and under a top layer. The surface covering panel assembly includes substantially identical surface covering panels. Each one of the surface covering panels includes a sheet member made of a first flexible material, the sheet member defining a first surface for interfacing with the top layer and a second surface, a padding layer panel made of a second flexible material, the padding layer panel defining a first surface for partially covering the second surface defined by the sheet member and a second surface for interfacing with the receiving surface, and an edge being adapted for releasable attachment to one of the at least other substantially identical surface covering panel.

PLAYING COURT

A system (10) for generating markings on a playing surface (30) comprises a playing surface (30) including a phosphorescent material; and a display device (12) for irradiating the surface (30) with an electromagnetic radiation to generate a first set of markings on the surface (30).

SYNTHETIC TURF WITH INTEGRATED IMPACT SENSORS
20200063380 · 2020-02-27 ·

Presented is an apparatus and system for an artificial turf system. The artificial turf system includes a backing layer having a plurality of fibers extending therefrom. The artificial turf system further includes a plurality of impact sensors located at least partially on, in, and/or beneath the backing layer, wherein the plurality of impact sensors are operable to detect a force or pressure applied to the backing layer.

Ball Game
20200054927 · 2020-02-20 ·

A ball game may include a system for defining a playing area including a plurality of boundary markers, a plurality of paddles or rackets and a ball. Rules of the game may involving hitting a ball upwardly and begin assessed a point if the ball falls within a central boundary marker, without an outer boundary marker or on one of the boundary markers, and wherein a point may be assessed against an opponent when the ball lands in a player play area for that player.

Control system for self-propelled line striper

A line striping system comprises a chassis, wheels, a spray system, a propulsion system and a steering system. The wheels are mounted under the chassis. The spray system is mounted on the chassis. The propulsion system is mounted on the chassis to drive a wheel. The steering system is coupled to the chassis. The steering system comprises a handlebar rotatatable to steer a wheel, and a speed bar pivotable to control the propulsion system.

Three-dimensional graphics made on grass using a chlorophyll-based agent

A system for creating three-dimensional grass graphics can include a means for cutting grass with an adjustable cutting height, a chlorophyll-based agent for coloring grass, and at least one stencil. The chlorophyll-based agent can be non-detrimental to a health of the grass and can be available in multiple shades. The stencil can be securable to the grass and can define a graphic to be painted on the grass using the chlorophyll-based agent. The means for cutting the grass can be able to pass over and around the stencil without damaging the stencil. Application of different shades of the chlorophyll-based agent to varying heights of grass can produce a three-dimensional effect for the graphic when viewed.

Line Fault Detection Systems and Method for Determining Whether a Sport Gaming Device Has Bounced Off an Area of a Sports Field

We generally describe an audio-based line fault detection system for a sports game. The audio-based line fault detection system comprises one or more audio sensors (102) for sensing an audio signal generated by a sports gaming device bouncing off a sports field. The sports field comprises surface modifications applied to a line and/or an area adjacent to the line on the sports field such that the generated audio signal is dependent on whether or not the sports gaming device bounces off the sports field where the surface modifications are applied. The detection system is configured to generate a sound profile from the audio signal sensed by the one or more audio sensors (102). The detection system is further configured to identify a bounce type based on the sound profile, wherein the bounce type is defined by whether or not the sports gaming device has bounced off the sports field where the surface modifications are applied.

Device and method for properly locating the YardLine numbers of a football field
10486053 · 2019-11-26 · ·

A template for properly determining the positions for the yardline numbers of an American-style football field includes a generally rectangular frame having an external perimeter and an internal opening defined by an internal perimeter. The shape of the internal opening, and the corresponding shape of the internal perimeter, is such that for each of the yardline numbers, i.e. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and 0, the internal perimeter defines a plurality of locations for abutting a corresponding plurality of outer edge portions of the yardline number. With the external perimeter appropriately aligned along one or more lines of the field, the frame can be used to properly locate any one of the six yardline numbers that are needed to properly locate all of the yardline numbers on an American-style football field. This frame reduces the number of templates needed to locate the yardline numbers of a football field, and also simplifies the process of properly locating the yardline numbers.
