An extendable wind turbine blade for being extended in length during operation thereof, the wind turbine blade having an exterior surface with a root region and an airfoil region and comprising a first blade segment including a first portion of the exterior surface, a second blade segment including a second portion of the exterior surface, and a connection mechanism connecting the blade segments, and being configured to bring the wind turbine blade to a retracted state, in which the portions of the exterior surface are flush and adjoining, when the wind turbine blade operates above a threshold rotational speed and to bring the wind turbine blade to an extended state, in which the portions of the exterior surface are disconnected and the blade length is at least 101% of the blade length in the retracted state, when the wind turbine blade operates below the threshold rotational speed.

Pumping units, pump assemblies and pumping methods
Pump assemblies may include a pumping unit. The pumping unit may include at least one impeller having an impeller housing with an impeller housing intake end, an impeller housing outlet end and an impeller housing interior extending from the impeller housing intake end to the impeller housing outlet end. An impeller assembly may be disposed in the impeller housing interior of the impeller housing. The impeller assembly may include an impeller hub. At least one impeller screw blade may extend from the impeller hub. An impeller shaft may drivingly engage the impeller hub for rotation of the impeller assembly in the impeller housing interior. The impeller shaft may be configured for driving connection to the power unit. At least one diffuser may include a diffuser housing with a diffuser housing intake end disposed in fluid communication with the impeller housing outlet end of the impeller housing of the impeller, a diffuser housing outlet end and a diffuser housing interior extending from the diffuser housing intake end to the diffuser housing outlet end. A plurality of diffuser vanes may be disposed in the diffuser housing interior of the diffuser housing. At least one pump extension may include a pump extension housing with a pump extension housing intake end disposed in fluid communication with the diffuser housing outlet end of the diffuser housing, a pump extension housing outlet end and a pump extension housing interior extending from the pump extension housing intake end to the pump extension housing outlet end. Methods of pumping a liquid from an area to be drained to a discharge area are also disclosed.

Disclosed is a support element for a lightning protection system of a wind turbine blade comprising: a first surface configured to face towards the suction side or the pressure side of the wind turbine blade; a second surface opposite the first surface; a root side surface configured to face towards the root of the wind turbine blade; and a tip side surface configured to face towards the tip of the wind turbine blade; wherein the first surface comprises a first receptor base recess configured to receive a first receptor base for coupling with a first receptor of the lightning protection system.

The noise reducer (70) comprises a plurality of aligned spine members (72), each spine member having a length and comprising a first section (74) extending along a first part of the length of the spine member, and a second section (76) extending along a second part of the length of the spine member, wherein the first section (74) has a higher stiffness than the second section (76).

Accelerated and/or Redirected Flow-Inducing and/or Low Pressure Field or Area-Inducing Arrangement, Their Use with Turbine-Like Devices and Methods for Using Same
An accelerated and/or redirected flow arrangement, optimally serving as a wildlife and/or debris excluder (WDE), is used in combination with a turbine-like device having an inlet end and an outlet end for fluid flowing therethrough, e.g., a hydro-turbine. The arrangement includes at least a forward part designed to be placed in front of a fluid inlet of a turbine-like device and configured to produce at least one of the following effects on the fluid: (a) imparting a redirection of the fluid; and/or (b) accelerating the flow velocity of the fluid, as it flows through the forward part. Turbine-like devices having both a forward part and a rearward part of flow arrangement are disclosed, as well as a method of enhancing turbine performance.
LEADING EDGE PROTECTION FOR A WIND TURBINE BLADE
Disclosed is a leading edge protection element for a wind turbine blade, the leading edge protection element extending in a longitudinal direction between a first edge and a second edge and extending in a transverse direction between a third edge and a fourth edge, the leading edge protection element having a first surface and a second surface. The leading edge protection element comprising a film layer having a first film surface and a second film surface, the first film surface forming the first surface of the leading edge protection element, wherein the film layer comprises a metal material. The leading edge protection element comprising a rubber layer of a rubber material having a first rubber surface and a second rubber surface, the second rubber surface forming the second surface of the leading edge protection element, wherein the second film surface and the first rubber surface are bonded to each other.

The present invention relates to an interlayer sheet for a spar cap comprising: a first fibre layer comprising a first plurality of fibres, having a first upper fibre surface and a first lower fibre surface, a second fibre layer comprising a second plurality of fibres, having a second upper fibre surface and a second lower fibre surface. The first fibre layer is arranged on top of the second fibre layer, such that the first lower fibre surface is in contact with the second upper fibre surface. The first fibre layer is of a different characteristic than the second fibre layer. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a spar cap for a wind turbine blade, comprising a plurality of pre-cured fibre-reinforced elements including at least a first pre-cured fibre-reinforced element and a second pre-cured fibre-reinforced element; and a number of interlayer sheets arranged between the plurality of pre-cured fibre-reinforced elements.
