YAW SYSTEM FOR A WIND TURBINE
In a first aspect, a yaw system for rotating a nacelle with respect to a tower is provided. The yaw system comprises a gliding yaw bearing, an annular gear and a plurality of yaw drives, a braking disk and one or more braking disk for braking the rotation of the nacelle. In a further aspect, a tower adapter for a wind turbine is provided. The tower adapter comprises a first bearing component of a gliding yaw bearing and braking disk to brake the rotation of the nacelle with respect to the tower adapter. In yet a further aspect, a wind turbine comprising such a yaw system and/or such a tower adapter is provided.
WATER-FLOW POWER GENERATING APPARATUS
A water-flow power generating apparatus includes a blade, a rotary part, a power generating unit, a nacelle, and a bearing unit. The blade rotates with power of a water flow. The rotary part is connected to the blade and rotates integrally with the blade. The power generating unit is connected to the rotary part and generates electricity with a rotation force of the rotary part. The nacelle covers the power generating unit, forms a boundary between an inner space in which the power generating unit is disposed and an underwater in which the blade is disposed. The bearing unit supports the rotary part. The bearing unit includes a thrust bearing disposed in the inner space and supporting the rotary part from an axial direction of the rotary part, and a journal bearing disposed between the nacelle and the blade and supporting the rotary part from a radial direction.
Fuel compositions from light tight oils and high sulfur fuel oils
Methods are provided to prepare a low sulfur fuel from hydrocarbon sources, such as light tight oil and high sulfur fuel oil, often less desired by conventional refiners, who split crude into a wide range of differing products and may prefer presence of wide ranges (C3 or C5 to C20 or higher) of hydrocarbons. These fuels can be produced by separating feeds into untreated and treated streams, and then recombining them. Such fuels can also be formulated by combinations of light, middle and heavy range constituents in a selected manner as claimed. Not only low in sulfur, the fuels of this invention are also low in nitrogen and essentially metals free. Fuel use applications include on-board large marine transport vessels but also on-shore for large land based combustion gas turbines, boilers, fired heaters and transport vehicles and trains.
AXIALLY MOUNTED BEARING HOUSING AND A WIND TURBINE WITH THE AXIALLY MOUNTED BEARING HOUSING
A bearing housing for use in a wind turbine is provided. Further, the bearing housing is axially coupled to a base support structure using plurality of fastening points on the bearing housing. The bearing housing may be coupled to the base support structure at multiple points so that the load is distributed evenly to the support structures such as base plate and the tower. The bearing housing is coupled to the base support structure using a fastener. The horizontal central axis of the bearing housing coincides with the horizontal central axis of the base support structure.
Compound main bearing arrangement for a wind turbine
A drive train of a wind turbine is disclosed as having a rotatable hub, a gearbox, a rotatable rotor shaft extending between the rotatable hub and the gearbox, and a main bearing assembly supporting the rotatable rotor shaft, the main bearing assembly having a main bearing housing enclosing one or more compound bearings, each of the one or more compound bearings having at least two axial thrust bearings and a radial bearing.
Gas turbine engine fan
A gas turbine engine includes a core turbine engine and a fan mechanically coupled to the core turbine engine. The fan includes a plurality of fan blades, each fan blade defining a base and an inner end along a radial direction of the gas turbine engine. The fan also includes a hub covering the base of each of the plurality of fan blades. Further, the fan includes one or more bearings for supporting rotation of the plurality of fan blades. The one or more bearings define a fan bearing radius along a radial direction of the gas turbine engine. Similarly, the hub defines a hub radius along the radial direction of the gas turbine engine. The ratio of the hub radius to the fan bearing radius is less than about three, providing for desired packaging of the various components within the fan of the gas turbine engine.
WIND TURBINE
A wind power installation comprising one or more rotor blades, a rotor hub to which the rotor blade or blades are mounted, and a generator for generating electrical power, wherein the generator has a generator stator and a generator rotor which is non-rotatably connected to the rotor hub and which is rotatable about an axis, wherein the rotor hub and the generator rotor have a common main bearing system or means which is subdivided into two bearing portions which are spaced from each other in the direction of the axis, wherein in that the first bearing portion has a first radial plain bearing and a first axial plain bearing and the second bearing portion has a second radial plain bearing and a second axial plain bearing.
Kinetic machine, powered by flowing water for the extraction of energy by pressurising water
A kinetically driven machine for pressurizing water containing kinetically driven pressure pumps containing a front and rear part. The front part contains a pump mounted with thrust bearings, so the pump can rotate around itself. The pump is fitted with a front wing set, that can rotate the front part of the pressure pump. The rear part contains a gearbox that is mounted on the pump. The very gear is mounted on the drive shaft of the pump. A protective tube is fitted around the gearbox and attached with thrust bearings, so that the protective tube can rotate around the gearbox. The rear wing set, constructed like the front wing set, is mounted on the protective tube whereby the rear wing set can rotate the gear. The wing sets rotate in opposite directions, so the energy of the water is transformed into rotational energy that thereby drives the pump.
WIND-TURBINE ROTOR BLADE, AND WIND TURBINE HAVING SAME
A wind-turbine rotor blade, comprising a blade root and a blade tip, a flange arranged on the blade root side for fastening the rotor blade to a rotor hub of a wind turbine, and a pitch bearing for adjusting the angle of attack of the rotor blade. The rotor blade has a non-pitched carrier, on which the flange is embodied, wherein the pitch bearing is fastened to the carrier and is spaced apart from the flange toward the blade tip.
