A vertical axis wind turbine includes two or more cells arranged one above the other along a vertical machine axis, wherein each of the cells includes a plurality of vertical blades which are arranged within the cell distributed on a concentric circle about the machine axis and which are connected so as to be able to move together on this circle and which are rotationally fixed with a main shaft, and wherein the blades in the cell are each individually mounted so as to be able to rotate about a vertical axis of rotation which in particular runs internally through them.
CONTROL METHOD AND DEVICE FOR HYDRAULIC CONTROL TURNING SYSTEM OF GENERATOR ROTOR
A control method for a hydraulic control turning system of a generator rotor includes: establishing a length relationship table between multiple hydraulic cylinders of the hydraulic control turning system; selecting a reference hydraulic cylinder; acquiring current lengths of the multiple hydraulic cylinders when the multiple hydraulic cylinders are located at error correction positions; and adjusting lengths of the other hydraulic cylinders corresponding to a next driving stroke to conform with the length relationship table. With such an arrangement, the accumulated dimension error between the hydraulic cylinders may be dynamically corrected during the turning operation, thereby ensuring that the turning pins are accurately aligned with the pin holes in the generator, and the corresponding turning operation is performed after the generator set is locked. Based on this, a control device for a hydraulic control turning system of a generator rotor is further provided.
SEAL ASSEMBLY FOR COMPRESSOR
A seal assembly for a compressor includes at least one impeller. At least one seal land is associated with the impeller including a plurality of radially stepped surfaces. A seal is associated with each of at least one seal lands. The seal includes a plurality of radially stepped projections corresponding to the plurality of radially stepped surfaces on at least one seal land. At least one actuator is configured to move at least one seal land relative to the seal.
Wind turbine with improved mast assembly
A wind turbine including a mast assembly having an upper support structure hingably attached to a lower support structure wherein the mast assembly has an installation position and an operational position. A wind turbine wheel is mounted to the mast assembly having a circular rim disposed at its perimeter and having an axle structure. An electrical generator is supported by the mast assembly and configured to engage with the turbine wheel for generating electricity in response to the rotation of the turbine wheel. A plurality of hydraulic lifts are provided in contact with the upper support structure when the mast assembly is in the installation position and configured to transition the upper support from the installation position to the operational position and wherein at least one hydraulic lift loses contact with the upper support structure during the transition.
REAL TIME PITCH ACTUATION IN A VERTICAL AXIS WIND TURBINE
In a vertical rotor apparatus that rotates in response to a moving fluid, a shaft defines an axis of rotor rotation. Rotor blades are longitudinally aligned in parallel with the shaft and each rotor blade defines an axis of blade rotation. A sensor generates a signal when any of the rotor blades are within rotor azimuthal angles of blade stall regions. A controller generates blade pitch information for the blade stall regions and an actuator, which is mechanically coupled to each of the rotor blades, alters blade pitch about the axis of blade rotation in accordance with the blade pitch information.
RAM AIR TURBINE ACTUATORS HAVING DAMPING
A ram air turbine (RAT) actuator piston can include a body defining a piston structure having an inner cavity. The piston can include one or more damping holes axially defined through the body to the inner cavity and a lock rod hole defined axially through the body to the inner cavity. The lock rod hole can have a larger flow area than one or more of the one or more damping holes. The lock rod hole can be configured to receive a lock rod of a RAT actuator to at least partially block flow through the lock rod hole when the lock rod is in a locked position. The one or more damping holes can be configured to allow flow through the damping holes in the locked position to allow the RAT actuator piston to move within the RAT actuator in the locked position to dissipate vibratory loads.
Clamping apparatus for positioning a main bearing of a wind turbine during an installation and/or repair procedure
A clamping apparatus for positioning a main bearing of a wind turbine includes a push component arranged between a main flange of a main shaft of the wind turbine and a cover of the main bearing. Further, the clamping apparatus includes a spacer plate located within a gap between the cover and the main bearing. As such, the push component is configured to apply a force to the cover so as to push the spacer plate against the main bearing such that the main bearing is pushed into and secured in place.
Submersible electrical wicket gates operator
A system and method for electrically controlling a submersible hydro-electric production system for avoiding leakage of oil and contaminants used in the existing hydraulic systems. The system comprises one or more submersible electrical actuators operably connected to a gate operating ring which in turn is connected to a plurality of wicket gates in the turbine. Each submersible electrical actuator comprises an electrical motor connected to a push-pull rod which is configured to transform the rotation movement received at a first end thereof to a linear movement at a telescoping end opposite the first end for rotating the gate operating ring to a desired position. The electrical actuator includes a waterproof structure which houses the electrical motor and the push-pull rod and at the same time allows for a telescoping movement of the push-pull rod for rotating the gate operating ring.
Device and method for rotating rotor of wind power generator and wind power generator
A device and method for rotating a rotor of a wind power generator and a wind power generator are provided. The device includes at least two rotating units, and each of the rotating units includes a telescopic cylinder, a mounting base configured to connect a fixed end of the telescopic cylinder to a stand of the wind power generator, and detachably connected to the stand; and a pin arranged at a movable end of the telescopic cylinder, configured to be releasably fixed to the rotor, and configured to drive the rotor to rotate relative to the stand by a stroke movement of the telescopic cylinder.
