A forming system includes a femtosecond laser and a control unit that includes one or more processors operatively connected to the femtosecond laser. The femtosecond laser is configured to emit laser pulses onto an inner surface of a face sheet of an acoustic inner barrel. The acoustic inner barrel includes an acoustic core comprising an array of hexagonal cells attached to an outer surface of the face sheet that is opposite the inner surface. The control unit is configured to control the femtosecond laser to laser drill a plurality of perforations in the face sheet via emitting laser pulses at pulse durations between about 100 femtoseconds and about 10,000 femtoseconds and at frequencies over 100,000 Hz.

The invention relates to a turbomachine blade comprising a vane. The vane comprises a leading edge, a trailing edge, a pressure face and a suction face spaced apart from each other and connecting the leading edge to the trailing edge. The vane further comprises at least one internal cavity between the pressure face and the suction face, wherein air is intended to flow. The vane comprises intersecting transverse partitions, downstream of the cavity, so that air can flow from the cavity in the direction of the trailing edge between the intersecting partitions.

The method including the steps of: forming a metallic foam core into a desired configuration; applying an external metallic shell to an exterior surface of the metallic foam core after it has been formed into the desired configuration; and attenuating the component to a desired frequency by forming a plurality of openings in the external metallic shell.
