The method further comprises heat treating the as-deposited coating at or above a first temperature for a first period of time following the deposition of the as-deposited coating on the substrate, wherein heat treating the as-deposited coating includes heating the as-deposited coating to or above the first temperature at a controlled rate. The heat treatment may be configured to at least one of decrease the open pores and/or microcracks of the heat-treated coating compared to the as-deposited coating or control a grain size of the heat-treated coating.

The retractor blade is adapted to engage and retract tissue, and the quick release mechanism is adapted to couple the handle with the retractor blade. The illuminator blade acts as a waveguide to transmit light by total internal reflection. Light is extracted from the illuminator to illuminate the surgical field. The retractor blade is releasable from the handle without requiring uncoupling of the illuminator blade from the handle and also without requiring optical uncoupling of the illuminator blade from a light source. The retractor may also be adapted to evacuate smoke from the surgical field.

A filamentary material deposition system is positioned from the internal surface of the casing; a first layer of the coating is deposited over 360′; a rotation of the filamentary material deposition system is carried out by a first predetermined angle and the filamentary material deposition system is positioned from the deposited layer; a second layer of coating is deposited on the first coating layer, on a sector of the casing; a displacement is carried out corresponding to the first sector already covered, then for the following sectors until 360° is covered; and after having carried out a rotation of the filamentary material deposition system.

Containment system for gas turbine engine

A containment system for a gas turbine engine includes an outer containment ring having a first projection that extends radially inward and an inner containment ring having at least a second projection that extends radially outward toward the outer containment ring. The second projection is offset and spaced apart from the first projection to define a chamber in a first state. The containment system includes a lattice defined within the chamber that spans the chamber, and the lattice is integrally formed with each of the outer containment ring and the inner containment ring. A density of the lattice varies in at least one of an axial direction and a radial direction. The second projection is configured to interlock with the first projection in a second state.
