The stator assembly includes an annular outer shroud secured to the case, an annular inner shroud secured to the case and a plurality of stator vanes extending from the outer to the inner shroud. A volume of potting is located at the inner shroud and at the outer shroud to retain the plurality of stator vanes thereat.

A gas turbine engine is disclosed having a turbine, one or more hydrocarbon gas combustors, and a compressor. The compressor has a rotor assembly with one or more rotor blade rows extending radially outward from an inner wheel disk. The compressor also has a stator assembly with one or more stator vane rows extending radially inward from an inner casing and positioned between adjacent rotor blade rows. The inner casing extends circumferentially around the rotor assembly and is constructed from at least one low-alpha metal alloy.

A gas turbine engine includes a turbine section disposed about an engine axis. The turbine section includes inner and outer diameter ceramic support rings that define a gaspath there between. Each of the inner and outer diameter ceramic support rings is monolithic and continuous. Ceramic vane arc segments are disposed in the gaspath and supported by the inner and outer diameter ceramic support rings. Each of the ceramic vane arc segments includes inner and outer platforms and an airfoil section there between. At least one retainer engages the inner or outer diameter ceramic support ring with the ceramic vane arc segments to retain the ceramic vane arc segments between the inner and outer diameter ceramic support rings.

Low friction, wear resistant variable vane bushing

A variable vane assembly includes a variable vane; a trunnion arranged on one end of the variable vane; a bushing mated to the trunnion to define an interface between the trunnion and the bushing; and a surface modification on at least one of the trunnion and the bushing at the interface, whereby frictional heating at the interface during operation of the assembly is reduced.

This blade repair method has: a first welding step in which overlay welding in which a first welding material is used is performed to form a notched part and a bury a first region positioned on a blade-body side with a first welding material; and a second welding step in which, after the first welding step, overlay welding in which a second welding material is used is performed to form a notched part and bury a second region positioned on a front-surface side of a platform with the second welding material. The high-temperature strength of the second welding material is higher than the high-temperature strength of the first welding material, the weldability of the first welding material is higher than the weldability of the second welding material, and the second region is located in a range from 1.0 mm to 3.0 mm (inclusive) from the front surface of the platform toward the blade body.

The present invention relates to a blade for a gas turbine, in particular of an aircraft engine, having a blade airfoil, which has a blade-root-side first profile section and a blade-tip-side second profile section, which is spaced apart from the first profile section in a radial direction, from the first profile section to the second profile section, by a blade airfoil height, wherein a stagger angle of the blade airfoil changes with a height in the radial direction over the first profile section at least over certain portions, wherein, in a first region between a first height and a second, greater height, the change in the stagger angle over the height does not decrease with increasing height at least over certain portions.

A blade and gas turbine include a stationary blade main body provided internally with cavities, and an inner shroud linked to an end portion, in the longitudinal direction, of the stationary blade main body, and which is internally provided with an inner shroud cooling passage with which a first cavity is in fluid communication. The inner shroud is provided, in front edge corner portions, with a first chamfered portion intersecting a front surface, a side surface, and an upper surface, and first cooling holes in fluid communication with the inner shroud cooling passage are provided in the first chamfered portion.

Variable vane actuation system and method for gas turbine engine performance management

A method of maintaining at least one gas turbine engine includes monitoring a compressor of the gas turbine engine. The compressor includes a compressor case at least partially defining a flow path, a plurality of stages and a vane actuator system configured to move at least one of the stages. The vane actuator system includes a vane mover having one or more slots formed therein and configured to actuate the at least one stage. The vane mover may be replaced after the gas turbine engine has experienced engine degradation.
