There may be no other circuit inlets are located between the first inlet and the second inlet.
Self-modulated cooling on turbine components
Systems and methods are disclosed herein for passively managing cooling air in a gas turbine engine. A cooling air supply line may supply cooling air to a component in the gas turbine engine. A metering coupon may have a negative coefficient of thermal expansion. The metering coupon may allow more airflow through the metering coupon and through the component in response to an increase in temperature.
FILM-COOLED GAS TURBINE COMPONENT
A film-cooled gas turbine component for a gas turbine has a surface exposed to a hot gas and a number of film-cooling openings open out, which film-cooling openings combined to form at least one row transverse to a flow direction of the hot gas. Each of the film-cooling openings has a duct section and a diffuser section having an upstream diffuser edge, two diffuser longitudinal edges and a downstream diffuser edge. At least two immediately adjacent film-cooling openings, of the respective row have their duct axes of the respective duct sections laterally inclined relative to the local flow direction of the hot gas and their diffuser sections are formed asymmetrically with respect to a projection of the duct axis, such that immediately adjacent corner regions of the respective film-cooling openings are in alignment without the respective diffuser sections making contact with one another.
WINDAGE COVER THAT COVERS FASTENERS COUPLING A RING GEAR ASSEMBLY TO AN OUTPUT SHAFT
A windage cover for a plurality of fasteners coupling a ring gear assembly to an output shaft. The windage cover includes a clip retention member abutting an integral cover shell of the output shaft, and a foot portion configured to be inserted into a pilot groove between an integral lip and an arm portion of the output shaft. The windage cover also includes a wall portion connected to the foot portion, the wall portion being retained at one end of the wall portion by the clip retention member. The windage cover is configured to cover the plurality of fasteners.
Abradable insert with lattice structure
An abradable insert for a gas turbine engine, the abradable insert including: a base layer; a lattice layer connected to the base layer, wherein the lattice layer comprises a series of walls that define a plurality of cells; and a sheet layer connected to the lattice layer on an opposite side on the lattice layer from the base layer, wherein the sheet layer is curved and includes a direction of concavity that points away from the base layer, wherein the lattice layer and the sheet layer are integrally formed together and are a monolithic piece of material.
ROTOR WITH OVERHANG AT BLADES FOR A LOCKING ELEMENT
A rotor for an engine is provided. The rotor comprising a rotor base part that has fastening grooves for rotor blades that are arranged in succession around a rotational axis along a circumferential direction, multiple rotor blades that are respectively supported in a form-fit manner inside a corresponding fastening groove by means of a blade root, and at least one securing element for the axial securing—with respect to a rotational axis—of at least one of the rotor blades at the rotor base part. The at least one securing element has two edges that are arranged at a radial distance to one another and through which the securing element is supported in a form-fit manner at the rotor base part, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, at the at least one rotor blade.
Airfoil with shaped mass reduction pocket
An airfoil includes a base, a tip, a suction side face, and a pressure side face. The pressure side face includes an outer surface, an inner surface located between the outer surface and the suction side face, and a transition surface that extends between and interconnects the outer surface and the inner surface so as to form a pocket in the airfoil.
Cooled airfoil trailing edge and method of cooling the airfoil trailing edge
An airfoil and method of cooling a airfoil including a leading edge, a trailing edge, a suction side, a pressure side and at least one internal cooling channel configured to convey a cooling fluid, is provided. A plurality of trailing edge bleed slots are in fluid communication with the at least one internal cooling channel, wherein a downstream edge of the pressure side of the airfoil lies upstream of a downstream edge of the suction side to expose the plurality of trailing edge bleed slots proximate to the trailing edge of the airfoil. The at least one internal cooling channel is configured to supply the cooling fluid from a source of cooling fluid towards the plurality of trailing edge bleed slots. A plurality of obstruction features are disposed within the at least one internal cooling channel and at a downstream edge of the remaining pressure side. The one or more obstruction features are configured having a predefined substantially polygon shape, to distribute a flow of the cooling fluid and provide distributed cooling to the plurality of trailing edge bleed slots.
