A device for centering and guiding a shaft of an aircraft turbine engine is provided. The device includes an outer ring of a rolling bearing extending about an axis and having orifices, an annular bearing support extending about the axis and at least partially about the ring, the support having orifices and a series of studs for connecting the ring to the support. The studs can be distributed about the axis and extend parallel to the axis. The ends of first studs can be engaged without clearance in the orifices, and ends of second studs can be engaged with clearances in the orifices of the ring and/or of the support, the clearances being configured so that the device has different stiffnesses in at least two directions perpendicular to the axis.
DEVICE FOR CENTERING AND GUIDING A SHAFT OF AN AIRCRAFT TURBINE ENGINE
A device for centering and guiding a shaft of an aircraft turbine engines. The device includes an outer ring of a rolling bearing, the ring extending about a main axis and having orifices arranged around the axis; an annular bearing support extending about the main axis and at least partially about the ring, the support having orifices and openings arranged about the axis; and a series of studs for linking the ring to the support, the studs being distributed about the main axis and having elongation axes substantially parallel to the main axis, the body of each of the studs passing through one of the openings. Some of the studs, have bodies that pass with a first positive clearance and a second virtually zero clearance through the first openings, the first and second clearances being configured so that the device has different displacement amplitudes.
Large displacement high temperature seal
A seal assembly is provided for a gas turbine engine. This seal assembly includes a tadpole seal with a bulb and a tail, where the tail is directed toward a backwall. The seal assembly also includes a faying extension that at least partially extends into the channel and into contact with the bulb. An exhaust duct is also provided for a gas turbine engine. This exhaust duct includes a seal assembly between a first exhaust duct section and a second exhaust duct section. The seal assembly includes a tadpole seal with a bulb and a tail, where the tail is directed upstream.
Gas turbine blade
A gas turbine blade according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a turbine blade provided in a gas turbine; and a plurality of film coolers formed in a section from a leading edge to a trailing edge of the turbine blade, in which the film cooler includes a cooling channel through which cooling air is introduced and formed in an oval shape; and an outlet through which the cooling air passing through the cooling channel is discharged and extending from an extended end of the cooling channel toward an outer side thereof and formed in an oval shape.
Fastback vorticor pin
A structure for disrupting the flow of a fluid comprises and a second lateral wall spaced apart from one another, yet joined, by a floor and a ceiling; and, (b) a vorticor pin extending in a direction parallel to an X-axis, the vorticor pin concurrently rising above and extending away from the floor to a height, in a direction parallel to a Y-axis, the vorticor pin comprising: (i) a front surface extending incompletely between the first lateral wall and the second lateral wall, the front surface extending above the floor and having an arcuate portion that is transverse with respect to a Z-axis, which is perpendicular to the X-axis and the Y-axis, and (ii) a rear surface extending between the first lateral wall and the second lateral wall, the rear surface extending between the front surface and the floor, the rear surface having an inclining section that tapers in height, taken parallel to the Y-axis, in a direction parallel to the Z-axis.
Elliptical slot with shielding holes
A turbine shaft comprising: a tubular body having an outer surface and an inner surface opposite the outer surface, the inner surface defining a hollow chamber within the tubular body, wherein the tubular body includes a first longitudinal axis concentric to the tubular body; and one or more shielded elliptical orifices, at least one shielded elliptical orifice comprising: an elliptical orifice in the tubular body including a major axis extending from a first side to a second side of the elliptical orifice, wherein the major axis is oriented at an angle parallel with a torque field of the tubular body; a first shielding orifice in the tubular body having a first axis collinear to the major axis; and a second shielding orifice in the tubular body having a second axis collinear to the major axis, wherein the elliptical orifice is located in between the first and second shielding orifice.
Airfoils and Machines Incorporating Airfoils
Various embodiments of an airfoil and machines with airfoils are disclosed. The airfoils include a thicker leading airfoil portion and a thinner trailing airfoil portion. In one embodiment, the leading airfoil portion is formed by bending a body of the airfoil back toward itself. In another embodiment, the leading airfoil portion has a solid geometry and includes two elliptic surfaces. To prevent detachment of airflow, the leading airfoil portion includes at least two arc portions or surfaces that act to direct the airflow down to the trailing airfoil portion in a manner that stabilizes vortexes that may form in the region of changing thickness.
Gas turbine engine component with a baffle insert
A component of a gas turbine engine, the component having: an internal cooling cavity extending through an interior of the component; a baffle insert configured to be inserted into the internal cooling cavity; a plurality of trip strips extending upwardly from an exterior surface of the baffle insert; and at least one rib extending upwardly from the exterior surface of the baffle insert, wherein the plurality of trip strips and the at least one rib are spaced from an interior surface of the internal cooling cavity.
FLUID SUPPLY CONDUIT AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING SUCH A CONDUIT
A method for providing a fluid supply conduit configured to pass through a constrained environment, including providing a circular section tube of appropriate dimensions, die stamping the circular section tube so as to obtain an oblong section tube of oval section, providing a plurality of external stiffeners of hollowed out shape adapted to the external dimensions of the oblong section tube, assembling the external stiffeners around a portion of the section of the oblong section tube.
THIMBLE ASSEMBLIES FOR INTRODUCING A CROSS-FLOW INTO A SECONDARY COMBUSTION ZONE
A thimble assembly, which directs fluid flow through a combustor liner, includes a thimble boss and a thimble.
