Cast integrally bladed rotor with bore entry cooling
An air cooled integrally bladed rotor with bore entry cooling holes for a small gas turbine engine cast using a ceramic core having an axial bore forming piece with a plurality of radial extending spokes that end in an annular ring to form cooling air supply passages for air cooled turbine blades. Bulbous chambers are formed in a circumferential cooling air supply channel formed below each blade, where cooling air holes are drilled from a tip of each blade and into the bulbous chambers. The radial spokes have an elliptical cross sectional shape with a major axis perpendicular to a rotational axis of the central bore of the IBR. A spacing of the inlet openings in the bore are minimized to reduce stress.
AIRFOIL WITH BODY AND COVER PANEL
An airfoil includes a body that has rib nodes that each define a node cavity therein. A cover panel is carried on the body over the rib nodes. The cover panel includes tabs that project into the node cavities. Plugs are disposed in the node cavities and pinch the tabs against the node cavities to lock the cover panel on the body.
Dual Body Variable Duty Performance Optimizing Pump Unit
A dual pump unit having a pair of pumps that provide parallel hydraulic paths, and are configured to operate concurrently in opposite rotational directions. The dual pump unit has a sealed casing which includes a suction flange, two volutes in hydraulically parallel configuration, and a discharge flange. The pair of pumps are located within a respective volute of the casing and, in an example, are radially inline and horizontally inline. The casing may include a flattened bottom. Each pump may include a touchscreen for configuration of the respective pump. The pumps are controllable to circulate a circulating medium to collectively provide output to source a load.

FLUID TURBINE WITH PARACHUTE-LIKE CATCHERS
The device consists of a vertical axis (1), one or more bearing rings (2), rotor (3), one or more pairs of catchers (4) made of light and strong material, flexible connections (5) and valves (6) with air intakes (7). The device can be applied to capture mechanical pressure and extract energy from fluid flows. Since its catchers are made of flexible and light material, it is characterized by a simple structure, light weight, and easy production and repair. Also, the device has a large working area, and reduces to a negligible small value the aerodynamic resistance during the reversible half-turn of the rotor, which further increases its efficiency.

Airfoil with body and cover panel
An airfoil includes a metal body that has holes, a cover panel carried on the metal body, and push fasteners that extend through the cover panel and into the holes to lock the cover panel on the metal body. Each of the push fasteners includes flexible barbs that engage sides of the holes to resist retraction of the fasteners from the holes. The heads of the push fastener are embedded in recesses in the cover panel.
Asymmetric diffuser opening for film cooling holes
A film cooled component may comprise a cooling chamber and a first ligament centered about a first axis. The first ligament may be in fluid communication with the cooling chamber. A first meter may be disposed at an end of the first ligament. A first diffuser may extend from the first meter to a surface of the film cooled component. The first diffuser may comprise a first tapered sidewall oriented at an angle of between 5 degrees to 15 degrees relative to the first axis. The first diffuser may further comprise a first non-tapered sidewall oriented at an angle less than 5 degrees relative to the first axis.

LOCALIZED THICKENING PLY REINFORCEMENT WITHIN CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITE AIRFOIL CAVITY
A CMC component for a gas turbine engine includes an airfoil including a leading edge, a trailing edge, a suction sidewall, and a pressure sidewall having a locally-thickened region, the locally-thickened region being a maximum thickness region of the pressure sidewall. The locally-thickened region has a first thickness, a maximum thickness region of the suction sidewall has a second thickness, and the first thickness is greater than the second thickness.
