The fixed cascade structure is within a cavity of the sleeve when the sleeve is in a sleeve stowed position. The blocker door is within the cavity of the sleeve when the sleeve is in the sleeve stowed position and the blocker door is in a blocker door stowed position. The blocker door projects in a radial inward direction away from the sleeve towards the centerline when the sleeve is in a sleeve deployed position and when the blocker door is in a blocker door deployed position. The blocker door includes a pivot attachment fixed at an end of the blocker door. The pivot attachment is configured to move in a forward direction from a first location to a second location.
HYBRID ARTICULATING / TRANSLATING TRAILING EDGE REVERSER
A thrust reverser for a gas turbine engine may comprise a frame, a first reverser door pivotally mounted to the frame at a first pivot point, a second reverser door pivotally mounted to the frame at a second pivot point, a first nacelle defining a first trailing edge of the gas turbine engine coupled between the frame and the first reverser door, and a second nacelle defining a second trailing edge of the gas turbine engine coupled between the frame and the second reverser door. The first nacelle and the second nacelle translate in an aft and radial outward direction relative to the gas turbine engine in response to the thrust reverser moving to a deployed position.
SYSTEM FOR ACTUATING A PANEL OF A TURBOJET ENGINE NACELLE
A pod for a turbojet engine includes an outer cowl having a structure with at least one opening and a panel pivotably mounted about an axis between a closed position and an open position, and a system for actuating the panel designed to lock the panel in closed position and to move same between the closed position and the open position thereof. The actuation system includes a lateral connecting rod connected to the panel and to the structure, pivoting relative to the structure about a first pivoting axis and about a second pivoting axis, and a linear actuator attached to the lateral connecting rod. The actuator system is designed to move the lateral connecting rod during the extension of the actuator, and the lateral connecting rod exerts a force on the panel during the movement thereof, pivoting the panel about the axis thereof.
VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT TURBOCHARGER
A projecting portion is formed on a nozzle ring, projects to a radially outer side with respect to a cylindrical portion, extends in a circumferential direction, and is held in abutment against a housing from a side of a link plate. A plate is faced to the nozzle ring on a side of a nozzle vane, and is configured to form a flow passage in a clearance to the nozzle ring. A pin is inserted into a first insertion portion formed in the nozzle ring and a second insertion portion formed in the plate, and to which the nozzle ring and the plate are mounted while the clearance is maintained. A counter bore groove is formed in the first insertion portion of the nozzle ring on the side of the link plate, and cut out the projecting portion.
Thrust reverser system with translating-rotating hinge assembly
A thrust reverser system suitable for a high-bypass turbofan engine of a type having a nacelle. The thrust reverser system includes a transcowl having a stowed, deployed and open positions. A hinge assembly translationally and rotationally couples the transcowl to a fixed structure that does not translate when the transcowl is translated in the aft direction. The hinge assembly includes a first member connected to the transcowl for translation therewith, and a fixed second member that defines a channel in which a portion of the first member is slidably received. The first and second members are configured to enable the portion of the first member to translate within the slider channel in an aft direction corresponding to a translational movement of the transcowl, and to enable the portion of the first member to rotate within the channel corresponding to a pivotal movement of the transcowl.
LINKAGE ASSEMBLY
Disclosed is a linkage assembly for a gas turbine engine having a link having a first end, a second end, and a rod extending therebetween, the first end having a first sliding bearing disposed within a first sliding bearing housing, a fastener comprising a first flange and a second flange, a pin extending between the first flange and the second flange, wherein the first sliding bearing is pivotally connected to the pin; and a biasing member secured between the first flange and the sliding bearing housing, the biasing member contacting the sliding bearing housing and biasing the link against rotation about a center axis for the rod of the link.
PLANT SYSTEMS
Plant systems are disclosed A disclosed example plant system includes a first assembly carried by a machine frame, and a second assembly coupled to an interface of the first assembly, where the interface has an interface axis along which at least one of a force flux, a torque flux, or a media flux can take pass from the first assembly and into the second assembly via the interface. The machine frame carries the second assembly.
GIMBAL ASSEMBLY AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF
A gimbal assembly comprises a body, comprising at least one pivot boss projecting radially outwards along a first pivot axis (V) from an outer surface of the body; a gimbal, comprising an outer case surrounding the body and at least one hole projecting radially outwards along a second pivot axis (H) to receive a pivot pin to pivotally couple the gimbal to a fixed structure. The second pivot axis (H) is perpendicular to the first pivot axis (V) and the outer case is formed at least partially from carbon fibre-reinforced polymer matrix composite material. The outer case comprises at least one cavity on its inner surface in which the at least one pivot boss is located to pivotally couple the gimbal to the body.
INSERTION TOOL AND METHOD
An insertion tool is provided for an engine defining an access opening and including a component defining at least in part a cavity. The insertion tool includes: an insertion tool arm having a plurality of segments, the insertion tool arm configured for insertion through the access opening into the cavity and the plurality of segments configured to be in a fixed position relative to one another within the cavity; and a base coupled to the insertion tool arm and configured to be positioned outside the cavity and to move the insertion tool arm along at least two degrees of freedom.
