Micro Water Pump
The present disclosure provides a micro water pump, including: a pump body having a cavity, an inlet communicated with the cavity, and an outlet communicated with the cavity; and a drive mechanism engaged with the pump s body for driving liquid from the inlet into the cavity and discharge from the outlet. The pump body includes a base and an upper cover fixed to the base for cooperatively forming the cavity by ultrasonic welding. By virtue of the configuration, improved heat-dissipation performance is performed.
ULTRA-MICRO GAS TURBINE GENERATOR
A novel structural arrangement for the various components of an Ultra-Micro Gas Turbine Generator, based on a single part impeller element which comprises the compressor, the turbine and the electrical generator core in a single annular structure, produced as a single piece by an additive manufacturing process. The single annular structure has a hollow shell structure, with a supporting structure within in. The internal hollow space of the shell structure provides for a flow of cooling air from the outside through the internal space, for cooling the turbine region of the impeller. This air flow could be assisted by the use of internal blades, which can also serve as the supporting structure to increase the strength of the shell structure. The air flow can either be ejected at the center of the turbine, or can provide a high pressure supply for air bearings of the impeller element.
Sectioned engine structure for a gas turbine engine
An assembly is provided for a gas turbine engine. This gas turbine engine assembly includes a stationary engine structure. The stationary engine structure includes a diffuser, a combustor, an engine case and a plenum. The combustor is disposed within the plenum. The engine case forms a peripheral boundary of the plenum. A gas path extends sequentially through the diffuser, the plenum and the combustor. A first section of the stationary engine structure is formed as a first monolithic body. The first section includes the diffuser and the combustor. A second section of the stationary structure is formed as a second monolithic body. The second section is configured as or otherwise includes the engine case.
HYBRID TURBOMACHINE FOR AIRCRAFT WITH AN ACTIVE ACOUSTIC CONTROL SYSTEM
Hybrid turbomachine comprising an electric generator, a gas generator equipped with an air inlet and with an exhaust and an acoustic monitoring system comprising a control unit and a plurality of loudspeakers.
At least a first loudspeaker is disposed on the electric generator, and/or at least a second loudspeaker is disposed on the air inlet of the gas generator, and/or at least a third loudspeaker is disposed on the exhaust of the gas generator.
The control unit of the acoustic monitoring system is mounted on the electric generator and is configured to make an AC-DC electrical conversion of the electromotive force of the electric generator into an adjustable DC voltage intended to be distributed to loads or to energy storage means.
Compositions and methods for disaggregation of biological tissue samples
Devices and methods for the efficient disaggregation of tissue samples, separating the tissue into individual intact cells or small aggregates of cells for analysis. A device may include a chamber to receive fluid and a tissue specimen containing more than one cell to be disaggregated. The chamber may include an opening and an agitator in fluid contact with the fluid and the tissue specimen. The agitator may include a micromotor which provides rotational motion to a shaft and an impeller fixed to the shaft such that the impeller and the shaft rotate together upon provision of the rotational motion by the micromotor. The device may include an electrical energy source electrically coupled to the micromotor to rotate the impeller sufficient to disaggregate the one or more individual cells from the tissue specimen and in a manner which does not lyse the one or more individual cells.
ENGINE ARTICLE WITH INTEGRAL LINER AND NOZZLE
A core engine article includes a combustor liner defining a combustion chamber therein and a turbine nozzle. The combustor liner includes a plurality of injector ports, and the plurality of injector ports have a shape that tapers to a corner on a forward side of the injector ports. The turbine nozzle includes a plurality of airfoils. The combustor liner and turbine nozzle are integral with one another. A method of making a core engine article is also disclosed.
THERMAL INSULATION FEATURES FOR GAS TURBINE ENGINES
A hot section of a gas turbine engine includes a stator housing wall and an at least one insulating standoff attached to the stator housing wall, extending radially away from the stator housing wall. The hot section includes an accessory module attached to an opposite end of the at least one insulating standoff away from the stator housing wall.
TURBINE THERMAL ISOLATION SYSTEM FOR MICRO-TURBINE ALTERNATOR
An electrical power generation system including: a micro-turbine alternator, including: a decomposition chamber; a turbine including blades driven by combustion gases from the decomposition chamber; a blower operably connected to the decomposition chamber to provide a blown airflow thereto; one or more shafts connecting the turbine to the blower such that rotation of the turbine drives rotation of the blower; an electric generator disposed along the one or more shafts such that electrical power is generated via rotation of the one or more shafts; and a housing enclosing the electric generator within a generator cavity formed therein. The blower is configured to blow air through the generator cavity through or around the electric generator. The air is configured to exit the generator cavity to enter the turbine.
