Nose cone assembly without fasteners
10352238 · 2019-07-16 · ·

Systems and methods of coupling a nose cone to a turbine machine. Nose cone assembly weight and coupling difficulty are each reduced by eliminating the number of bolts used to mount the nose cone to the turbine machine, as well as the support or retaining ring. The disclosed nose cone comprises a plurality of hub mounting elements including one or more flexible spring flanges, one or more bayonet flanges, and one or more pilot flanges, each configured to engage a respective portion of the turbine machine.

Assembly with mistake proof bayoneted lug

An assembly for rotational equipment with an axial centerline. The assembly includes a first component and a second component. Each of the components extends circumferentially around and axially along the centerline. The first component includes a flange and a lug aperture extending axially through the flange. The second component includes a mount base and a bayoneted lug on the mount base. The mount base is configured to axially engage the flange where the bayoneted lug extends through the lug aperture. A fastener secures the components together. The fastener projects axially into a fastener aperture in the mount base for an axial length that is less than or equal to an axial length of the bayoneted lug.

Systems and methods of coupling a nose cone to a turbine machine. Nose cone assembly weight and coupling difficulty are each reduced by reducing or eliminating the number of bolts used to mount the nose cone to the turbine machine, as well as the support or retaining ring. The disclosed nose cone comprises a plurality of hub mounting elements including one or more bayonet flanges, two or more apertures defined by a flange forming an annular hub mating surface of the nose cone and configured to receive an fastener therethrough, and one or more pilot flanges.

Lock for threaded in place nosecone or spinner

A lock for securing a nosecone having first threading to an inlet case having second threading and for use with a gas turbine engine having an axis includes an annular ring designed to be positioned about the first threading. The lock also includes a tab extending radially from the annular ring, and having a ramped circumferential end and an angled circumferential end such that the ramped circumferential end passes over a detent of the inlet case in response to the nosecone being fastened to the inlet case and the angled circumferential end engages with the detent to resist unfastening of the nosecone from the inlet case.

Low profile pump with the ability to be mounted in various configurations

A pumping system featuring a pump chamber configured with a central portion having a tangential outlet, and configured with a tubular coupling end portion having inwardly flexible rim portions on one side; and a mounting base, having a circular portion with an inner circumferential rim configured to receive and engage the inwardly flexible rim portions of the tubular coupling portion of the pump chamber so as to be rotationally coupled to the pumping chamber so that the pumping chamber may be rotated 360 in relation to the mounting base.

Interlocking rotor assembly with thermal shield

A rotor assembly includes a first rotor, a second rotor mounted on the first rotor and co-rotatable there with, and a thermal shield interlocked with the second rotor for co-rotation there with.

System for repairing a fastener equipping a reactor wall

An attachment system intended to equip a wall, the system including a nut intended to receive a screw of which the orientation is normal to the wall, the screw passing through an element such as an outer panel in order to attach the element to the wall. The attachment system comprises a socket having a threaded cylindrical outer face intended to be screwed into a hole passing through the wall and having dimensions greater than the dimensions of the fastener that the repair socket replaces, the socket carrying, in the central region of same, a nut receiving the screw.

Multi-volute sirocco fan

Disclosed is a multi-volute sirocco fan (multiblade fan). The present invention relates to a multi-volute sirocco fan configured to discharge fluid into several directions while using one motor and one fan. The sirocco fan according to the present invention comprises: a driving motor; a fan connected to a rotation shaft of the driving motor to thus be rotated therewith, the fan having a plurality of vanes arranged and installed in a cylindrical shape along the circumferential direction thereof; and at least two stacked volutes in the center of which the fan is arranged and installed and which guide the fluid while the cross-sectional area formed by the upper and lower surfaces, side surfaces thereof and the outer circumferential surface of the fan is linearly increased.

TRUNNION RETENTION FOR A TURBINE ENGINE

A fan for a gas turbine engine is provided. The fan includes a plurality of fan blades, a disk, and a trunnion mechanism for attaching the fan blades to the disk. The disk can be formed of a plurality of individual disk segments, with the trunnion mechanism attaching one of the plurality of fan blades to a respective disk segment. A retention member is also provided. The retention member includes a means for catching a portion of the trunnion mechanism should a primary attachment system of the trunnion mechanism fail.

Canopy installing structure facilitating ease in disassembling

A canopy installing structure has a hanging mount and a canopy. The hanging mount has an upper mounting unit, at least one hanging hook segment mounted on the upper mounting unit, and a hanging mount main body. The hanging mount main body is fixed on a ceiling through the upper mounting unit. The canopy has an annular wall and at least one engaging groove segment. The annular wall is mounted around a side wall of the upper mounting unit. The at least one engaging groove segment is formed on an inner side of the annular wall. The at least one hanging hook segment protrudes toward the annular wall and each engaging with a respective one of the at least one engaging groove segment. The canopy installing structure improves the disassembling efficiency and facilitates ease in assembling.
