A flow metering and retention system includes a first disk that is annular in shape surrounding a centerline and extending axially along the centerline, a first coverplate axially rearward of the first disk with the first coverplate having an axially rearward extending arm, a second disk that is annular in shape surrounding the centerline and rearward of the first coverplate, a second coverplate at least partially between the first coverplate and the second disk; and a ring adjacent to the radially outer side of the slot of the second disk. The second disk has a slot into which the arm of the first coverplate extends with the slot having a radially outer side and a radially inner side, and the ring is configured to meter air flowing between the radially outer side of the slot and the arm of the first coverplate.

A cover plate according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a body, a first tab near a bore of the body, and a second tab circumferentially spaced from the first tab. A slot is defined between the first tab and the second tab, the first tab, the second tab and the slot extending at an angle relative to a slot axis that extends through the bore. In another embodiment, the cover plate includes a bumper that limits deflection of the body.

A centrifugal pump includes a main body casing. The main body casing includes an upper main body casing, a lower main body casing fixed to the upper main body casing, and a blade casing. In the blade casing, an interior space S1 formed by the upper main body casing and the lower main body casing is partitioned, and a fluid introducing passage is formed on the upper portion and a rotating accommodating space S2 to accommodate the rotating blade member is formed on lower portion. A joint portion of the upper main body casing, the lower main body casing, and the blade casing is fixed on the state of sealing. A joint portion of the suction side coupling member and the main body casing and a joint portion of the discharge side coupling member and the main body casing 34 are fixed on the state of sealing.

Trunnion retention for a turbine engine

A fan for a gas turbine engine is provided. The fan includes a plurality of fan blades, a disk, and a trunnion mechanism for attaching the fan blades to the disk. The disk can be formed of a plurality of individual disk segments, with the trunnion mechanism attaching one of the plurality of fan blades to a respective disk segment. A retention member is also provided. The retention member includes a means for catching a portion of the trunnion mechanism should a primary attachment system of the trunnion mechanism fail.

System and method for diffuser AFT plate assembly

A method includes inserting axially a radially interior surface of an aft plate assembly into a circumferential groove of an inner barrel of a diffuser section of a gas turbine, where the aft plate assembly is inserted into a first circumferential orientation relative to the circumferential groove, and the circumferential groove is disposed on a radially exterior surface of the inner barrel. The method includes rotating the aft plate assembly circumferentially within the circumferential groove from the first circumferential orientation to a second circumferential orientation, where the inner barrel is configured to axially retain the aft plate assembly when the aft plate assembly is disposed in the second circumferential orientation.

A lock for securing a nosecone having first threading to an inlet case having second threading and for use with a gas turbine engine having an axis includes an annular ring designed to be positioned about the first threading. The lock also includes a tab extending radially from the annular ring, and having a ramped circumferential end and an angled circumferential end such that the ramped circumferential end passes over a detent of the inlet case in response to the nosecone being fastened to the inlet case and the angled circumferential end engages with the detent to resist unfastening of the nosecone from the inlet case.
