20170283073 · 2017-10-05 ·

An environmental control system for an aircraft includes a higher pressure tap to be associated with a higher compression location in a main compressor section associated with an aircraft engine, and a lower pressure tap to be associated with a lower pressure location in the main compressor section associated with the aircraft engine. The lower pressure location being at a lower pressure than the higher pressure location. The lower pressure tap communicates to a first passage leading to a downstream outlet, and having a second passage leading into a compressor section of a turbocompressor. The higher pressure tap leads into a turbine section of the turbocompressor such that air in the higher pressure tap drives the turbine section to in turn drive the compressor section of the turbocompressor. A turbine outlet receives airflow exhausted from the turbine section. A compressor outlet receives airflow exhausted from the compressor section. A combined outlet receives airflow from the turbine outlet and the compressor outlet intermixing airflow and passing the mixed airflow downstream to be delivered to an aircraft. A diverter valve controls airflow from the turbine outlet into the combined outlet for controlling a temperature of airflow in the combined outlet. A gas turbine engine is also disclosed.

IMPACT-COOLING TUBULAR INSERT FOR A TURBOMACHINE DISTRIBUTOR

A tubular ventilation sleeve for a turbomachine distributor, in particular for an aircraft, the sleeve having a generally elongate shape along an axis (A-A) and including a perforated tubular wall around said axis, one of the axial ends of the sleeve being open and the other being closed by a bottom wall, wherein it further includes support beams when the sleeve is made by additive manufacturing, the beams extending inside the sleeve between the tubular wall and the bottom wall and having a longitudinal cross-section with a generally triangular shape, two sides of which are respectively connected to the tubular wall and the bottom wall and the last side of which is free and extends inside the sleeve, perforations in the tubular wall being provided between the support beams.

SUMP HOUSING FOR A GAS TURBINE ENGINE

A sump housing apparatus for a gas turbine engine includes: an annular body; and a plurality of service tubes arrayed around the body, each service tube having a proximal end intersecting the body and an opposed distal end, each service tube having an inner port communicating with an interior of the body; wherein the body and at least one of the service tubes are part of a monolithic whole.

ADAPTIVE BLEED SCHEDULE IN A GAS TURBINE ENGINE

An aspect includes a system for a gas turbine engine. The system includes one or more bleeds of the gas turbine engine and a control system configured to check one or more activation conditions of a dirt rejection mode in the gas turbine engine. A bleed control schedule of the gas turbine engine is adjusted to extend a time to hold the one or more bleeds of the gas turbine engine partially open at a power setting above a threshold based on the one or more activation conditions. One or more deactivation conditions of the dirt rejection mode in the gas turbine engine are checked. The dirt rejection mode is deactivated to fully close the one or more bleeds based on the one or more deactivation conditions.

Disabling circuit in steam turbines for shutting off saturated steam

A cooling option for a steam turbine is provided, wherein the steam turbine includes a high-pressure zone and a medium-pressure zone, wherein the saturated steam streaming out of the high-pressure zone is discharged via a saturated steam conduit to a first pressure chamber in a second flow channel of the medium-pressure zone and thus the possibility of the saturated steam causing damage by corrosion and erosion in the high-pressure zone is prevented.

INTERNAL STRUCTURE FOR A TURBOMACHINE NACELLE

Internal structure for a turbomachine nacelle, the internal structure being intended to surround at least one part of a compartment capable of receiving a gas generator of the turbomachine, the internal structure comprising a ventilation cavity of said compartment, the ventilation cavity being provided with a main ventilation outlet and an auxiliary ventilation outlet separate to the main ventilation outlet, the internal structure comprising a shut-off member movable relative to the ventilation cavity between a flow position and a shut-off position in which the shut-off member shuts off the auxiliary ventilation outlet to a greater extent than in the flow position.

System and method for engine eductor powered by alternate managed air system

A ventilation system includes a cavity, a fluid motive force device, and a motive fluid supply system. The cavity includes different ventilation level requirements for a plurality of modes of operation. The fluid motive force device includes a suction port, an outlet port, and a motive fluid inlet port. The suction port is coupled in flow communication with the cavity to be vented. A flow supply to the motive fluid inlet port determines a ventilation flow through the suction port. The motive fluid supply system is coupled in flow communication with the motive fluid inlet port. An operation of the motive fluid supply system determines a flow of motive fluid from the motive fluid supply system to the motive fluid inlet port. The flow of motive fluid to the motive fluid inlet port generates a ventilation flow through the suction port approximately matching a current ventilation demand of said cavity.

STEAM TURBINE STATOR VANE, STEAM TURBINE, AND PRODUCTION METHOD FOR STEAM TURBINE STATOR VANE

A steam turbine stator vane includes a vane body portion which has a vane surface including a pressure surface and a suction surface, a moisture removal channel disposed in the vane body portion, at least one slit opening to the vane surface to communicate with the moisture removal channel and extending along a height direction from a base end portion toward a tip end portion of the vane body portion, and at least one groove portion disposed in the vane surface and extending from the base end portion along the height direction, at least a part of the at least one groove portion overlapping the at least one slit along the height direction.

Auxiliary oil system for geared gas turbine engine

A gas turbine engine comprises a fan drive turbine, a fan rotor, and a gear reduction driven by the fan drive turbine to, in turn, drive the gear architecture. A main oil supply system supplies oil to components within the gear reduction, and an auxiliary oil supply system. The auxiliary oil system operates to ensure that the gear reduction will be adequately supplied with lubricant for at least 30 seconds at power should the main oil supply system fail.
