System and method for controlling dual starter air valve
A system may comprise a sensor configured to measure a characteristic of an engine component. A valve assembly may have an airflow outlet in fluid communication with the engine component. The valve assembly may include a first valve. A first valve control device may be coupled to the first valve and configured to control the first valve based on a measurement by the sensor. A second valve may be in fluidic series with the first valve. A second valve control device may be coupled to the second valve and configured to control the second valve based on the measurement by the sensor.

The communications module is operable to communicate information between the plurality of cores and one or more aircraft modules. The plurality of cores include first and second cores operable to concurrently execute a first discrete set of software instructions to generate respective instances of an output. The arbitration module is operable to communicate each and every one of the respective instances to control the one or more aircraft modules. A method of operating an aircraft system is also disclosed.
Pitch control assembly for an aircraft-bladed rotor
A feedback device for use in a gas turbine engine, and methods and systems for controlling a pitch for an aircraft-bladed rotor, are provided. The feedback device is composed of a circular disk and a plurality of position markers. The circular disk is coupled to rotate with a rotor of the gas turbine engine, to move along a longitudinal axis of the rotor, and has first and second opposing faces defining a root surface that extends between and circumscribes the first and second faces. The plurality of position markers extend radially from the root surface, are circumferentially spaced around the circular disk, and extending along the longitudinal axis from a first end portion to a second end portion. At least part of the first end portion and/or of the second end portion comprises a material having higher magnetic permeability than that of a remainder of the position markers.
Electric motor control for demand fuel pumping system
A fuel system for a gas turbine engine includes a first electric motor, a main fuel pump driven by the first electric motor to provide a fuel flow, and an actuator operable by a second electric motor. A first motor controller governs operation of the first electric motor. A second motor controller governs operation of the second electric motor. The second motor controller is operable to control operation of the first electric motor in response the first motor controller being incapable of governing operation of the first electric motor.
BLADE ANGLE POSITION FEEDBACK SYSTEM WITH EMBEDDED MARKERS
There is provided a blade angle feedback system for an aircraft-bladed rotor rotatable about a longitudinal axis and having an adjustable blade pitch angle. A feedback device is coupled to rotate with the rotor and to move along the axis with adjustment of the blade pitch angle. The feedback device comprises a body having position marker(s) embedded therein, the body made of a first material having a first magnetic permeability and the position marker(s) comprising a second material having a second magnetic permeability greater than the first. Sensor(s) are positioned adjacent the feedback device and configured for producing, as the feedback device rotates about the axis, sensor signal(s) in response to detecting passage of the position marker(s). A control unit is communicatively coupled to the sensor(s) and configured to generate a feedback signal indicative of the blade pitch angle in response to the sensor signal(s) received from the sensor(s).
Coolant delivery via an independent cooling circuit
An embodiment of an independent cooling circuit for selectively delivering cooling fluid to a component of a gas turbine system includes: at least one coolant feed channel fluidly coupled to a supply of cooling fluid; and an interconnected circuit of cooling channels, including: an interconnected circuit of cooling channels embedded within an exterior wall of the component; an impingement plate; and a plurality of feed tubes connecting the impingement plate to the exterior wall of the component and fluidly coupling a supply of cooling fluid to the interconnected circuit of cooling channels; wherein the cooling fluid flows through the plurality of feed tubes into the interconnected circuit of cooling channels only in response to a formation of a breach in the exterior wall of the component that exposes at least one of the cooling channels.

The feedback device is composed of a circular disk and a plurality of position markers. The circular disk is coupled to rotate with a rotor of the gas turbine engine, to move along a longitudinal axis of the rotor, and has first and second opposing faces defining a root surface that extends between and circumscribes the first and second faces. The plurality of position markers extend radially from the root surface and are circumferentially spaced around the circular disk. The position markers have a top surface elevated with respect to the root surface and opposing first and second side surfaces. The side surfaces of the position markers have a curved concave profile extending toward the root surface.

Single lever control system for engines with multiple control modes
An engine control system includes a first user control lever configured for rotational movement between a first control position and a second control position and a second user control lever configured for rotational movement between a third control position and a fourth control position. The first user control lever is configured for operational control of an engine in a first control mode and the second user control lever is configured for operational control of the engine in a second control mode, such as a backup mode. A mechanical link couples the first user control lever to the second user control lever with at least one angular offset. As a result of the angular offset, the second user control lever can be maintained in a safe operating position relative to the first user control lever position.
