SELF-RETAINING BUSHING ASSEMBLY

A bushing apparatus includes: a housing with first and second ends, the housing having an outer bore passing therethrough from the first end to the second end, wherein the bore includes a reduced-diameter band located between the first and second ends; and a bushing received in the outer bore, the bushing having first and second ends and an inner bore passing therethrough from the first end to the second end of the bushing, wherein the bushing includes an outer surface having a reduced-diameter groove located between the first and second ends, wherein the band is received in the groove in a radially overlapping relationship, so as to block movement of the bushing relative to the housing.

Vacuum pump with fiber-reinforced resin cylinder

Provided is a vacuum pump in which the flexing of a rotating cylinder made of a fiber-reinforced resin can be reduced as much as possible to sufficiently reduce the gap between the rotating cylinder and a fixed cylinder, and exhaust performance can thereby be improved to great effect. A vacuum pump comprising a thread groove pump portion equipped with a fixed cylinder portion (2) having a spiraling thread groove portion (1) provided in an internal peripheral surface, and a rotating cylinder portion (3) placed inside the fixed cylinder portion (2), the thread groove pump portion exhausting through a spiraling exhaust flow channel due to the rotating cylinder portion (3) being caused to rotate, and the exhaust flow channel being formed from the thread groove portion (1) and an external peripheral surface of the rotating cylinder portion (3). The rotating cylinder portion (3) is configured by stacking a plurality of fiber-reinforced resin layers, and the outermost fiber-reinforced resin layer is thicker than the adjacent layer.

EXPANDABLE IMPELLER PUMP

An impeller includes a hub, and a plurality of blades supported by the hub, the blades being arranged in at least two blade rows. The impeller has a deployed configuration in which the blades extend away from the hub, and a stored configuration in which at least one of the blades is radially compressed, for example by folding the blade towards the hub. The impeller may also have an operational configuration in which at least some of the blades are deformed from the deployed configuration upon rotation of the impeller when in the deployed configuration. The outer edge of one or more blades may have a winglet, and the base of the blades may have an associated indentation to facilitate folding of the blades.
