The present disclosure relates generally to a fan blade spacer including a conduit disposed within a fan blade spacer composed of an elastically deformable material.
Centrifugal pump unit and method for moving a valve element in a pump unit
A centrifugal pump assembly includes an electric drive motor (6, 8), a driven impeller (14) and a pump casing (2) which surrounds the impeller (14). A movable element (24; 24′) is arranged a valve element. A section of the valve element is movable from a released position into a bearing position, fixed on a contact surface (60), by pressure which is produced by the impeller in the pump casing. A control device (64) moves the valve element from one switching position into another switching position and reduces the speed of the drive motor. Upon pressure in the pump casing dropping such that the valve element is no longer fixed on the contact surface and the valve element has been moved into the other switching position, the control device increases the speed of the drive motor again. A method for moving a valve element is provided.
AIR BLOWING DEVICE
An air circulator which is attached to a sheet member and which is for generating an air flow from one side of the sheet member to another side of the sheet member includes a fan main body and a ring member for attaching the fan main body to the sheet member. The fan main body includes a hollow cylinder unit, a flange formed on the cylinder unit, a motor fixing unit, a motor fixated to the motor fixing unit, a wing attached to a rotating shaft of the motor and first engaging units formed on outer surfaces of first parts of the cylinder unit, the first parts forming a pair and facing each other. The ring member includes second engaging units which are formed on inner surfaces of second parts that form a pair, the second parts facing each other, and which engage with the first engaging units.
SHAFT SEAL MECHANISM
A shaft seal mechanism (11) that blocks a fluid (G) flowing within a ring-shaped space (14) is equipped with: a ring-shaped seal housing (21) disposed on a fixed section (12); a plurality of thin-plate seal pieces (22) that are secured to the seal housing (21), are in sliding contact with a rotating shaft (13), and are layered in a ring shape; a ring-shaped high-pressure-side plate (25) that forms a high-pressure-side gap (δH) between itself and the seal housing (21); a ring-shaped low-pressure-side plate (26) that forms a low-pressure-side gap (δL) between the seal housing (21) and the thin-plate seal pieces (22); stepped sections (31, 32) that are formed on side edge sections (22c, 22d) of the thin-plate seal pieces (22); and locking sections (25b, 26b) that lock the stepped sections (31, 32).
Ring fastener
The present invention describes a ring fastener (10) comprising a discontinuous band (11) having a first end (14) and a second end (16). The first end (14) comprises a pair of spaced-apart elongate finger members (15a,15b) (having a first finger member (15a) and a second finger member (15b)), and the second end (16) comprises an elongate tongue member (17). The finger members (15a,15b) and the tongue member (17) are interlockable, such that when interlocked, the band (11) comprises a continuous circumference. The ring fastener (10) further comprises a closed configuration wherein the finger members (15a,15b) and the tongue member (17) are substantially aligned with a circumferential surface (13) of the band (11); and an open configuration wherein the first finger member (15a) is radially and/or axially deflected from its substantially aligned position, so that it is angled with respect to the circumferential surface (13) of the band (11). The invention also describes a method of assembling a bore (40) and a component (42), and the use of such an assembly.
Turbocharger
A turbocharger for a motor vehicle has a housing and a valve seat in the housing. The valve seat is retained in an interlocking manner in the housing by at least one elastic securing element.
Inflatable device with guiding mechanism for effective engine cleaning
An inflatable device equipped with a guiding mechanism and methods of installing the inflatable device to form a temporary barrier within a gas turbine engine are provided. In one aspect, an inflatable device includes a backbone and an inflatable bladder connected thereto. The backbone is formed of a flexible and inextensible material. The inflatable bladder is formed of an expandable material. To install the inflatable device within an annular chamber of a gas turbine engine, the backbone is inserted into a first access port of the engine and is moved circumferentially around the annulus of the chamber. The backbone is retrieved through a second access port. The inflatable bladder is moved into position within the chamber by pushing the backbone into the first access port and/or pulling the backbone out of the second access port. When positioned in place, the inflatable bladder is inflated to form an annular seal.
REMOVABLE CLOSURE MEMBER FOR A FEMALE PORTION RECEIVED IN AN EXTERNAL OPENING OF AN AIRCRAFT ENGINE NACELLE
A removable closure member is configured to close a female portion received in an external opening formed in the external surface of a nacelle for an aircraft engine. The female portion includes at least one air inlet opening. The closure member includes a base that forms the external contour of the member and that extends beyond the external opening of the nacelle so as to move into abutment against the external surface of the nacelle. The closure member further includes at least one resiliently deformable position retention member that projects from the base and is configured to be inserted into the air inlet opening.
FASTENER RENTENTION MECHANISM
A stator assembly having: an inner air seal carrier having a mounting body; a plurality of guide vanes secured to the mounting body via a plurality of fasteners; and a fastener retention mechanism secured to the mounting body via the plurality of fasteners. The fastener retention mechanism having: a housing defining an inner chamber; and a filler located within the inner chamber. The portions of the plurality of fasteners are encapsulated within the filler.
Fuel manifold and fuel injector arrangement for a combustion chamber
Each fuel injector has a main nozzle and pilot nozzle. A main fuel manifold to supply fuel to the main nozzle of each fuel injector and pilot fuel manifold to supply fuel to the pilot nozzle of each fuel injector. The main fuel manifold includes plurality of flexible main fuel pipes. Also, plurality of cross-piece connectors including a stem and four arms. The stem of each connector mounted on one fuel injector. The first and third arms extend in opposite directions from the stem and second and fourth arms extend in opposite directions from the stem. Each fuel pipe interconnects the first arm of one connector with a third arm of an adjacent connector and each connector so the first and third arms are at an angle relative perpendicular to the axis of the annular combustion chamber casing so the main fuel manifold extends around the combustion chamber casing sinusoidally.
