STEAM TURBINE, A STEAM TURBINE NOZZLE, AND A METHOD OF MANAGING MOISTURE IN A STEAM TURBINE
A hydrophilic surface pattern on a removal surface of a steam turbine directs surface moisture in at least one predetermined direction to enhance moisture management by enhancing moisture removal or otherwise reducing erosion caused by moisture in the steam turbine. In some embodiments, the removal surface is located on the outer surface of the nozzle wall adjacent an extraction opening. In some embodiments, the removal surface is located on the surface of the bucket and directs moisture toward the turbine rotor. In some embodiments, the removal surface is located on the surface of the turbine casing or the surface of the nozzle and directs moisture toward a drain in the turbine casing. The hydrophilic surface pattern is preferably laser-etched as a nano-scale pattern to create the hydrophilic surface. In some embodiments, the hydrophilic surface pattern creates a superhydrophilic surface.
Stationary turbine blade and steam turbine
This stationary turbine blade comprises: a stationary blade main body extending in the radial direction intersecting the flow direction of steam; a hydrophilic region which is formed on the surface of the stationary blade main body and which has a higher hydrophilicity than the other parts and has the radial dimension gradually increasing toward the downstream side in the flow direction; and a collecting portion which is provided on the downstream side of the hydrophilic region and which collects a liquid film flowing along the hydrophilic region.
VANE SEPARATORS WITH ACOUSTIC INSULATION
The present application provides a vane separator system for use with a gas turbine engine. The vane separator system may include a number of vanes with a first vane, a second vane, a third vane, a fourth vane, and a fifth vane. The vane separator system may include a number of vane flutes separating the vanes, and a first acoustic insulator positioned within a first vane flute.
Lip skin with hydrophobic and hydrophlic surfaces for an aircraft aerostructure
An air inlet section for an aircraft propulsion system nacelle includes an outer skin, an inner skin, and a lip skin. The lip skin extends between and to an outer end and an inner end. The outer end is disposed at the outer skin. The inner end is disposed at the inner skin. The lip skin forms an exterior lip skin surface extending from the inner end to the outer end. The exterior lip skin surface forms a leading edge of the lip skin. The exterior lip skin surface includes an outer surface portion and an inner surface portion. The outer surface portion extends from the outer end to the inner surface portion. The outer surface portion forms a hydrophobic surface. The inner surface portion extends from the inner end to the outer surface portion. The inner surface portion forms a hydrophilic surface.
