Bilayer thermal barrier coatings with an advanced interface

A component with a ceramic coating system wherein the component includes a substrate, especially a nickel- or cobalt-based superalloy, a metallic bond coat, especially based on a NiCoCrAl composition, a ceramic coating system with an lower ceramic coating and an upper ceramic coating. An intermediate coating is located between lower coating and upper coating, providing a rougher surface which has a maximum thickness of 25% of the thickness of the lower coating or of the upper coating. The bonding capacity of a ceramic coating system is improved by adapting the coating parameters such as size of the powder and changing of the parameters of the spraying system.

Steam turbine member

A steam turbine member has suppressed adhesion of scale for a long time without deterioration of corrosion resistance and the like of a turbine. A steam turbine member includes a hard layer 2 and a deposited amorphous carbon film 3 on a base material 1, in that order.

SURFACE POLISHING METHOD FOR MICRO INNER FLOW CHANNEL, MICRO INNER FLOW CHANNEL PART AND POLISHING MEDIUM

A surface polishing method for micro inner flow channel, a micro inner flow channel part and a polishing medium. The diameter of the micro inner flow channel is less than or equal to 3 mm and length-diameter ratio is greater than or equal to 50:1. A polishing medium including a liquid phase and a solid phase, and viscosity of the liquid phase <1000 cP, the solid phase includes abrasive particles; a predetermined pressure being set on the polishing medium, making the polishing medium flow in the micro inner flow channel at a flow velocity more than 5 m/s, and flow rate of the polish polishing medium flowing into the micro inner flow channel at one end reaches a saturation flow rate allowed by the bore of the micro inner flow channel, making the hydraulic pressure inside the inner flow channel be in a pressure holding state.

A method of preparing a ceramic fabric for use in a ceramic matrix composite includes transforming a ceramic tow from a first tow geometry to a second tow geometry, thereby reducing a first dimension of the ceramic tow and increasing a second dimension of the ceramic tow orthogonal to the first dimension to produce a flattened tow. The method includes weaving or braiding the flattened ceramic tow to form a ceramic fabric.
