A propeller blade comprises a root, a tip distal from the root, a trailing edge extending from the root to the tip, a trailing edge, e.g. foam, insert, a shell forming an outer surface of the propeller blade and a plurality of stitches of yam extending through two parts of the shell adjacent the trailing edge, wherein the yarns do not extend through the trailing edge insert.
Hinged seal using wire mesh
A seal segment includes a flapper seal, a wire mesh acting as a hinge for the flapper seal, and a spring. The flapper seal has a first surface and a second surface. The wire mesh includes a first section connected to the first surface of the flapper seal and a second section connected to the first section. The spring includes a first end that is in contact with the first section of the wire mesh to apply pressure to the first surface of the flapper seal and a second end adjacent the second section of the wire mesh.
Exhaust gas turbocharger
An exhaust gas turbocharger for an internal combustion engine may include a rotor with a turbine wheel of a turbine, a compressor wheel of a compressor and a shaft. The shaft may be connected to the turbine wheel and to the compressor wheel in a rotationally fixed manner. A bearing cartridge may be included for mounting the rotor in a housing. The bearing cartridge may have an inner sleeve arranged on the shaft axially between the turbine wheel and the compressor wheel with respect to an axis of rotation and an outer sleeve arranged coaxial thereto. The outer sleeve may be rotatably mounted on the inner sleeve via at least one rolling body. At least two damping rings may be included which are coaxially arranged on the outer sleeve axially spaced from one another and supported on a respective bearing section of the housing.

A turbofan having a nacelle delimiting a duct for a bypass flow and including a fixed structure including a guide vane support with guide vanes, a mobile cowl movable in translation between an advanced position and a retracted position, arms, each one being mobile in rotation on the guide vane support between a stowed position and a deployed position and comprising a distal end and a proximal end, for each pair of adjacent arms, a flexible screen extending angularly between the two arms, and of which an exterior edge is attached to the guide vane support, and wherein the distal end of each arm is fixed along the interior edge, a link rod mounted articulated between the distal ends, actuators to cause the mobile cowl to move, and an operating system which moves each arm. Such an arrangement allows a reduction in weight.

A composite fan casing for a gas turbine engine defining a central axis is generally provided. The composite fan casing includes a core having a plurality of core layers of reinforcing fibers bonded together with a thermosetting polymeric resin, wherein one or more of the plurality of core layers of reinforcing fibers comprises a shear thickening fluid. The core layer may include at least one fabric sheet comprising the reinforcing fibers.

The invention concerns a fan blade for a turbomachine, comprising: a leading edge and a pressure-side wall, a structural shield, said shield being attached and fixed to the leading edge of the blade and comprising a pressure-side fin attached to the pressure-side wall, and a piece of fabric comprising aramid fibres, attached and fixed to the pressure-side wall of the fan blade such that the piece of fabric extends in the continuation of the pressure-side fin of the shield without covering said pressure-side fin.
Journal and thrust gas bearing
A bearing includes a thrust gas bearing attached to a journal bearing and two or more converging-diverging orifices defined in a surface of at least one of the thrust gas bearing and the journal bearing. The converging-diverging orifices supply at least one pressurized gas to an interior of the bearing. Hydrodynamic lifting grooves are provided on the faces of the thrust gas bearing and the journal bearing and provide improved load capacity and sealing capabilities. Control over the ratios of the pressurized gases provides for additional sealing capabilities and reduced leakage. A metal mesh damper provides increased damping of the gas bearing.
AIRFOIL HAVING A STRUCTURAL CELL AND METHOD OF FORMING
An airfoil for a turbine engine, the airfoil having an outer wall defining an interior and a camber line extending through the airfoil, and at least one cell located within the interior. The at least one cell can include a forward portion and an aft portion with respect to the camber line. The forward portion and the aft portions can be connected by side portions. A braided fabric can be provided on at least one of the forward or aft portions, while a braided fiber can be provided on at least one of the side portions.
