Bellows accumulator
A bellows accumulator has at least one accumulator housing (2) and a separating bellows (20) movably arranged in the accumulator housing (2). The separating bellows 20 has a plurality of bellows folds and separates two media spaces (8, 22) from one another. The stationary open end of the separating bellows (20) is fixed to the accumulator housing (2) by a securing device (24). The separating bellows (20) has, at its movable other end, a closure part (36) having a guide device (40) by which the closure part (36) is guided in the accumulator housing (2). The closure part (36) has, in addition to the guide device (40), a sealing device (50). At least in the one extended end position of the separating bellows (20), the sealing device (50) separates a fluid space (8), in which the bellows folds are arranged in the accumulator housing (2), from a fluid port (12) in the accumulator housing (2). At least in some of the other working positions, the sealing device (50) releases this fluid connection.
Lightweight composite overwrapped accumulators
The present invention provides lightweight high-pressure accumulators that avoids diaphragm failure observed in conventional diaphragm accumulators. Lightweight high-pressure composite overwrapped accumulators of the invention are made from a plurality of hollow casings that are mated to form an accumulator housing. The accumulator housing is overwrapped with a composite material to provide additional mechanical strength and structural integrity. More significantly, the accumulators of the invention includes a plurality of annular grooves and a plurality of bulb on the flexible diaphragm such that the plurality of bulbs on the flexible diaphragm are placed in the plurality of annular grooves that are formed between the first and the second hollow casing. In this manner, diaphragm failure is significantly reduced or even completely eliminated during repeated high pressure charge/discharge cycle of the accumulator.
ACCUMULATOR FOR A DAMPER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF
An accumulator for a damper is provided. The accumulator includes a housing defining a longitudinal axis, a fluid connector and a bag. The bag includes a plurality of annular discs disposed adjacent to each other. Each annular disc includes an inner diameter defining a through aperture and an outer diameter. The plurality of annular discs includes a first end disc, a second end disc and one or more intermediate discs. Each intermediate disc is disposed between two adjacent annular discs. The inner diameter of the first end disc is connected to the fluid connector. The inner diameter of each intermediate disc is connected to the inner diameter of one adjacent annular disc. The outer diameter of each intermediate disc is connected to the outer diameter of the other adjacent annular disc. A solid cover disc is connected to the outer diameter of the second end disc.
Tensioning cylinder device
A tensioning cylinder device includes a housing (2), at least partly longitudinally movable piston-rod unit (30, 34) arranged in the housing and a compensating element in the form of a bellows body (18) having bellows folds. The bellows body is longitudinally variable and has a media-carrying connection to a compressible medium accommodated in a medium chamber (12) in the housing (2).
Pressure accumulator having a monitoring device
A pressure accumulator having an accumulator housing (10) in which a movable separating element (16) separates a gas chamber (12) filled with a working gas from a fluid chamber (14) in a fluid-sealed manner. A monitoring device (46) is provided, which, in the event of a fault impairing the sealing effect of the separating element (16), provides an optically discernible indication and has an inspection window (54), through which an indicator can be observed. The monitoring device is connected to the gas chamber (12) and changes optical properties discernibly when wetted with the fluid. The indicator changing its optical properties is accommodated in a capsule (48) with a capsule wall (50) permeable to the passage of the fluid and arranged between the inspection window (54) and the separating element (16) in the accumulator housing (10).
FLUID PULSATION DAMPENERS
A pulsation dampener includes: a housing having in internal cavity; an expandable bellows positioned within the internal cavity of the housing, the expandable bellows having a proximal end, a distal end, and an expandable portion between the proximal and distal ends; a bellows support member coupled to an interior side of the distal end of the expandable bellows and extending longitudinally away from the distal end of the expandable bellows toward the proximal end of the expandable bellows; and a cap fixed with respect to the housing and positioned to support the bellows support member when the expandable bellows is in a longitudinally compressed configuration.
ACCUMULATOR PRE-CHARGE MONITORING USING POSITION SENSOR
Systems and methods for determining a pre-charge gas pressure in a gas-charged hydraulic accumulator are disclosed. For example, systems and methods for determining pre-charged gas pressure of a gas-charged hydraulic accumulator included as part of a vehicle are disclosed. Further, the present disclosure provides for determining a pre-charge gas pressure of a gas-charged hydraulic accumulator using a position sensor. The accumulator may form part of a hydraulic system used to move one part of the vehicle relative to another.
Moisture detecting air cap indicator for expansion tank failure
Disclosed is an expansion tank having an internal cavity separated by a flexible diaphragm to form an upper pressurized gas portion and a lower pressurized fluid portion, and an indicator positioned at an upper part of the expansion tank in communication with the contents of the upper pressurized gas portion. The indicator is configured so as to display a first color if the operating conditions are normal in the pressurized gas portion, and a second color if the amount of moisture detected in the pressurized gas portion greater than or equal to a predetermined amount. Further disclosed is a method for detecting whether there is an excessive amount of moisture in a pressurized gas portion of an expansion tank by allowing pressurized gas from the pressurized gas portion to come into contact with the indicator, and viewing the color displayed by the indicator. As such, the tank can be simply visually inspected to determine whether there is a potential failure in the tank.
Accumulator
A diaphragm accumulator provided with a flexible diaphragm inside an accumulator housing has a stress relaxing member having a contact surface which the diaphragm deformed by a pressure fluctuation inside the accumulator housing contacts and regulating the deformed attitude of the diaphragm by the contact surface on the inner surface. When the diaphragm is deformed by the pressure fluctuation inside the accumulator housing, the stress relaxing member regulates the deformed attitude of the diaphragm to reduce a stress generated in the diaphragm.
