Non-linear scarf joint
Apparatus and methods provide for a non-linear scarf joint and a method for joining two components utilizing a non-linear scarf joint. A non-linear scarf joint includes multi-planar surfaces on connection ends of two components being joined to create a structure. Each multi-planar surface includes a first faying surface, a second faying surface, and a transition faying surface joining the first and second faying surfaces. A transition scarf angle associated with the transition faying surface is different than scarf angles associated with the first and second faying surfaces.
A fastening device for fastening elements
A fastening device for fastening soft surfaced elements to each other comprises a planar top portion and two side portions. The side portions are coupled with the planar portion at one end via an angle portion, and are arranged essentially perpendicularly in relation to said planar top portion and essentially parallel with each other thereby forming a receiving opening for receiving said element between the side portions. In addition the side portions both comprise at least one tooth, which is inclined towards the opening and the element in use and thereby arranged to fasten, such as via friction or via penetration into the surface of the element, and thereby fasten the device to the element. Moreover at least one of the portions comprises a protrusion portion for receiving, focusing and attaching a magnetic member to the device so to allow the device to be fastened to an external member via said magnetic member.
PANEL LOCK CONSTRUCT
A construct and kit are provided including a pair of panels, each of the panels having a planar surface surrounded by an outer edge, one of the pair of panels defining a void in which a female component of a coffin lock is situated, the female component defining a cavity with a pin extending thereacross, the cavity presenting outwardly from the one of the pair of panels, and the other of the pair of panels defining another void at the outer edge of the other of the pair of panels in which a male component is situated, the male component defining another cavity presenting outwardly from the outer edge of the other of the pair of panels, the other cavity having a hook extending therefrom and protruding from the outer edge, wherein the hook of the male component is releasably engageable with the pin of the female component.
FIXATION DEVICE FOR SECURING A LINEAR ELEMENT TO A WORKPIECE
A fixation device for securing a linear element to a workpiece includes a contact component and a fixation component. The contact component typically includes (i) a first contact surface for application to a workpiece and (ii) a first opening for receiving a linear element. The fixation component typically secures a portion of the linear element on a side of the first contact component opposite the first contact surface. The fixation component engages the contact component to prevent passage of the linear element's secured portion through the workpiece when a tension is applied to the linear element in a direction opposite the contact surface.
Interlocking Connector and Associated Systems and Methods
A system and method for removably joining two surfaces together with a connector using protrusions and slots. A protrusion rising from the surface is slid into a slot in a parallel direction to the surface so it is secured against being removed in a perpendicular direction to the surface. Various shapes of protrusions and slots are possible, including trapezoid profiles.
Precast segmented annular structure with structural joint
A segment for an annular structure includes an arcuate body extending between a first end and a second end. The segment includes a first plurality of interlocking portions extending from the first end and a second plurality of interlocking portions extending from the second end. Each interlocking portion includes a first leg and a second leg partially embedded in the arcuate body and a connecting portion connecting the first leg and the second leg, the connecting portion external to the arcuate body. The segment also includes a flange proximal to the first end and the second end of the arcuate body. Each flange includes a first spacing portion that extends radially outward from the outside surface and a second extending portion that extends distally from the main body portion.
CONSTRUCTION ARRANGEMENT AND DETACHABLE CONNECTION ASSEMBLY FOR THIS CONSTRUCTION ARRANGEMENT
The construction arrangement comprises a first construction wall (1) and a second construction wall (2). The walls (1, 2) are arranged adjacent in a vertical plane, such that the first construction wall and the second construction wall (1, 2) have an edge in contact and such that three directions (X, Y, Z) are defined, an X-direction (X) corresponding to the contact edge direction, a Y-direction (Y) corresponding to a direction perpendicular to the X-direction and contained in the vertical plane and a Z-direction (Z) perpendicular to both the X and Y directions (X, Y), such that it is a direction normal to the first and second construction walls (1, 2). The construction comprises a connection assembly capable of transmitting forces in the X and the Y direction (X, Y) between the walls (1, 2) and attachable upon a surface of the walls (1, 2) normal to the Z-direction. The connection comprises at least two tension units (3, 4), each tension unit (3, 4) comprising two connection paddles (31, 32, 41, 42), attachable upon a surface of the first and second walls (1, 2) normal to the Z direction by means of detachable anchorage means (11, 12, 21, 22) and a tension shaft (5, 6) connecting the connection paddles (31, 32, 41, 42). For each tension unit (3, 4) a first connection paddle (31, 41) is fixed to the first wall (1) on a surface normal to the Z-direction (Z) an a second connection paddle (32, 42) is fixed to the second wall (2) on the cited surface normal to the Z-direction (Z) such that in case of shearing efforts between the walls along the X-direction at least one of the tension units (3, 4) works under tension.
Housing with locking structure
The present invention refers to a housing with a locking structure to connect a first housing part (12) with a second housing part (14). The locking structure comprises a flexible snap member (38) extending from the first housing part over an inner wall portion of the second housing part and is provided with a first engaging portion (44). The inner wall portion of the second housing part is provided with a second engaging portion (60). The first and second engaging portions forming a snap fit connection to be released by lifting said snap member from the inner wall portion. A release tool (70) is arranged on or above the bottom of said second housing part to be slidable towards the snap member. The snap member is further provided with a receiving portion being formed to catch the tip (76) of said release tool in a locked manner when the release tool is pushed into the receiving portion.
