PANEL ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS TO ASSEMBLE THE SAME
A panel assembly can include a first panel having a peripheral side located between an upper and a lower surface of the first panel and a first opening. The panel assembly can also include a second panel having a second opening. An elongated insert can be coupled to the first panel, the elongated insert having a coupling side, where the first opening of the first panel can be sized and shaped to coupleably receive the elongated insert such that the coupling side is positioned proximal to the peripheral side. The panel assembly can also include a fastening insert, where the second opening of the second panel can be sized and shaped to receive the fastening insert. A fastener can be received by the fastening insert and the elongated insert, the fastener coupling the first panel to the second panel via the fastening insert and the elongated insert. Related methods for assembling the panel assembly are also provided.
Storage Receptacle Stacking System
Provided is a storage receptacle stacking system comprising a set of receptacles. Each receptacle is an open rectangular prism defined by, a back panel, which has a top edge, a bottom edge, a right edge, and a left edge, and a first back panel surface, and a set of side panels. The set of side panels has top, bottom, left, and right panels. Each receptacle is removably engaged to at least one other receptacle by a first set of fasteners. For each receptacle, at least one of the panels in the set of side panels is adjacent to and parallel with at least one of the panels in the set of side panels of another receptacle, and any one of the panels in the set of side panels may be engaged in the alternative with any one of the panels in the set of side panels of any other receptacle.

Method of assembly of composite core sandwich edge joint
A method for assembling a composite wall assembly edge joint including laying up a first composite face sheet, laying up a first composite buildup pad having a first tapered section onto the first composite face sheet and positioning a composite flute core member, including a tapered first portion with a first inclined surface and a second inclined surface. First inclined surface is positioned onto the first tapered section of the first composite buildup pad and a second portion of the composite flute core member extends from the tapered first portion along first composite face sheet. The method also includes laying up a second composite buildup pad having a second tapered section with the second composite buildup pad spaced apart from the first composite buildup pad and having at least a portion of the second tapered section overlying the second inclined surface of the tapered first portion.
Mounting System for a wire screen panel
A system for mounting a wire screen panel to a frame for screening particulate materials. The frame has a stringer with a ferrule defined therein. The system comprises a screen panel having a first plurality of wires and a second plurality of wires disposed. The screen panel has a first side and a second side disposed opposite from the first side. The screen panel has a first end and a second end disposed opposite from the first end. A plate is disposed along at least a portion of the length of the first side of the screen panel. A fastener having a shaft and a head portion is configured and arranged to extend adjacent to the plate and to engage with a bushing disposed in the ferrule in the stringer. The head portion of the fastener engages with the plate on the side of the plate opposite the stringer such that the screen panel is fixed in position relative to the frame.
RATCHETING PIN ADJUSTABLE FASTENING SYSTEM
An adjustable fastening system includes a first member and a second member. The first member includes a plurality of fingers radially positioned about a central longitudinal axis, and a plurality of notches, with one of the notches disposed between an adjacent pair of the fingers. The second member is attached to the first member, and moves axially along the central longitudinal axis, relative to the first member, in response to rotational movement about the central longitudinal axis. The second member includes a plate having a protuberance extending radially outward from the central longitudinal axis. The protuberance is positioned within one of the plurality of notches, and in interlocking engagement with two of the plurality of fingers, to resist rotation of the second member relative to the first member about the central longitudinal axis.
SCREW CONNECTION
The invention describes a screw fastening for fixedly joining together two components, and has a first component, which at one edge thereof has a rib-shaped joining region, as well as a joining member, which is arranged fixedly at said joining region, a self-tapping screw and a second component. The second component is joined fixedly to the joining member and the first component by way of this screw. The joining member has a hole along the first component on the first side thereof, and has an abutment portion, which is arranged on a second side, remote from the first side, of the first component. The joining member has a slot-like recess at the abutment portion, through which the first component extends. The hole in the joining member protrudes over the first component, such that the screw screwed thereinto is screwed into the first component in a thread formed by said screw.
Hinged building shrinkage compensation device
A device for compensating for the natural shrinkage of building materials includes an expander mounted on a base plate. An opening in the expander aligns with a hole in the base plate to define an axis and receive a shank of a fastener. The expander is biased axially away from the base plate substantially at the axis. The base plate can be securely fastened to a first building member. A fastener can be axially fixed relative to a second building member and the expander but not axially fixed relative to the base plate and first building member.
